Blogathon is an annual charity event created and hosted
by blogathon.org.
On the day of the blogathon, bloggers from around the
world stay awake for 24 hours and write in their online
journals every 30 minutes to raise money for their favorite
charity. blogathon.org provides a website that keeps
track of pledges from family and friends of individual
participants, and facilitates fulfillment of these pledges
after the event is over. In 2003, blogathon rasied over
$100,000 for a variety of charities.
For the 2003 blogathon, zefrank.com
organized a special blogathon event in which two teams
of bloggers wrote collaborative fiction over a 24 hour
period. Money raised by our efforts went to Gilda's
Club, over $2,000 in all. The teams included a bunch
of folks from the zefrank.com community as well as some
newcomers. Screennames of participants: lapietra, deviate,
masterofnone, beale blues, amanda, chemical, clay hasychak,
thidwick, Claire, me.
Below are links to some of the stories, poems
and nonsense that was created in the 24 hours. If you
are interested in creating collaborative fiction go
to the zefrank.com message board and browse the "fiction
project"
