I went to a memorial service tonight for Julia Dawson. She was killed in 2004The web page is Juliaalert.org in case you are interested in reading more. Her husband is the prime suspect in her murder, he has not been arrested.

The memorial was interesting. Besides celebrating Julia's life, the preacher spoke about forgiveness, and insulating one's heart from hate. He even prayed for the murderer. That the murderer would confess, and god accept the murderer's confession, and forgive him.

Wow, that got me thinking. I don't know if I could ever forgive someone for killing someone I love. It would be hard for me not to want to retaliate.

What are your thoughts on forgiveness?

why would you have to?

I guess, from what I have read, that forgiving someone is good for yourself. That anger and hate are emotions that take an emotional and physical toll on yourself. You don't have to forget, but you can forgive.

I hope I never have to find out for myself.
