There's alot of examples in the animal kingdom of licking for both cleaning and social purposes. Different primates lick and chew each other's fur to harvest ticks and other parasites. So the connection between intimacy and mouth touching is not unique... but yeah I think kissing is a uniquely human behavior.

I see the brief interest in this story. One of those things that make you go "Hmm..I guess that is right." But why is it still on the news days later? Are there not more pressing issues that could be reported on?
