ok so i've been with my family for all of like a day and a half and it's already reaching the breaking point.

I get the pull-out couch in the family room, which I'm thankful for because then I'm quite close to the TV and computer :)

Anyway, I'm up pretty early, I understand, but my Father gets up, takes one look at me and says "what the hell are you doing awake".....I said well good morning to you, did you have a nice rest? He said nothing, just walked away, and into the bathroom. Is it me, did I do something?

So then last night we go to dinner, all 8 of us. We go to some place called THE KEG (red meat & beer), go figure. So we're all sitting there eating and drinking a bit (i'm doing a bit more of the latter). That pisses my Dad off more, whatever. I become fixated on the buffet. I keep pointing it out to my father. He's a germ freak so he will never eat off a buffet in case some sneezed on it or double dipped. I keep telling him to try it, he gets mad. So then I see a waitress coming out to remove the buffet. I keep telling my Dad you better hurry, which keeps making him more and more pissed.

So were all watching the woman take the food off the Buffet, and then it happens, she drops one of the trays with those burner things attached. So it drips oil on the floor and the floor catches on fire. Yes, the floor catches on fire as we're all sitting there eating our slabs of meet. THe woman screams for help, so then 3 or 4 people come to her aide. One person takes their napkin to put out the fire.......it then catches on fire. Someone took a glass or water....which worked, but the fire was much larger than "one glass", this goes on for a while, finally someone dumps a large amount of water on it and it goes out. The manager then comes out (after the rukus) and announces to his staff, "uh, we're going to have to work on our fire safety skills" To which I almost fell of my chair, how precious.....so then my dad asked the manager for a discount, since he said our dinner was ruined by the fire. The manager said no...........Dad was angry again.

I don't know why I wrote this, but I felt like I needed to get it out.

My dad has not always been this "macho" . It seems as he has gotten older he gets a bit more "cranky". We just got back from McDonalds and he had a 10 minute conversation with the cashier about the quality of their coffee cups. He asked her to pass his concerns along, it was rather funny. I choose to laugh as much as possible, he's only 66 so I'm afraid of how rude he'll be in ten years.

N.S. I'm watching a show called the untalkative bunny, might be my new favorite.

I've been out of real coffee for so long, drinking only instant. Just got a huge container of the good stuff, got the can opener out and opened that baby up. AHHHHHH, just the scent made me happy. I can't wait for the first cup, I will have the Cheshire grin all day. Thank you god, for small pleasures!!!
