4 has always seemed very cooperative to me.
9 is very powerful, arrogant.
5 is rather jubilant, always happy.

3 gets along, with its three huggy little arms.
4 is such a pointy little martinet.
6 holds you a little in awe and can only look at you in sideways glances.
9, look -- you know you're a little overweight. Well, you are!

My friend's sister has mild synesthesia and has always associated numbers with different religions:
3 is Christian (no surprise there - Holy Trinity).
12 is Hindu. I don't know why.
8 is Jewish, I think.
and 32 is Buddhist, for some unknown reason.
I've always thought this is awesome. :D

I've always fancied myself to be a bit of a synaesthete. The first time I read about synaesthesia I thought, "Hey, I thought that was just me."
I associate numbers strongly with colours, but sometimes more than one colour. 2 and 7 are troublesome like this. I also see expressions in the shape of the numbers, which is useful because it makes numbers stand out from other shapes.
1 is clean and very bright. Its colour is always near white.
5 is warm and like a husky voice. It is a pink-red or orange-red. It is usually friendly but can be rough by accident.
4 is logical, precise and ordered. It is hard and medium green.
6 is friendly and loving, but 8 is a number that I admire. It has style. It can sometimes be cold.
132 is a bit wild, like a food that has too much sugar to be edible.
178 is mysterious like the drain you explored as a kid.
For an experiment, I just wrote down the numbers 1-9 on pieces of paper and lined them up from lightest to darkest. This is what I got.

It's sometimes said that there are 12 principal dieties in Hinduism although some of them are paired. There is also a festival, Kumbh Mela, which occurs every twelve years, and there are 12 months and 6 seasons in the Hindu calendar.
8 nights of Hannukha?
And Buddha was said to have had 32 distingushing physical marks (http://buddhism.about.com/library/blbud32marks.htm).

Very possible, all of them! I'll ask her the next time she's back from college.

Apparently, when I was four and learning to count, I never liked the number 15.
My parents have home videos of me counting "13...14...16...17...", and when asked why 15 is skipped, I reply "I hate fifteen."
I was a strange little kid...

Y'know, it seems like some of those are kind of improbable...
I mean, "eyelashes like those of an ox"? A "torso like that of a lion?" A "head shaped like a turban"?
I guess a modern Buddha would have to undergo plastic surgery for fit those requirements. :D

Really!! Mine too :) (also have a thing for 17, 26 and so on)
Before that 7 and 11 used to be my numbers, but dunno they totally lost the vibe they had for me.

^ geek you :)
Have no serious issue with any of the natural numbers, only 5 seems a bit cold to me and 10 is boring (a friend of mine hates the 10, she'd for example never board a plane or do something important on the 10th of a month...)
8 (infinity turned by +/-90°, two zeros stacked on each other, the power of the first two prime numbers, i.e. 2^3, and something else I cannot explain in words) and 0 (mysterious and pure) are particularly lovely to me, as are π and i (got a thing for everything complex ;)).

10 is boring
how could one view 10 as boring ?
it contains
1: the whole, everything
&
0: the void, nothing
what else could you ask of a number ?

Oooh.
So it turns out 10 can't be divided after all.
I wish I could spread that on toast and eat it.

Aye, you speak truth T.I.P.! Plus 10 doubles in binary, have to readjust my opinion on 10 a bit maybe... But I insist on 5 being a cold number ;)

Got pie in the eye? Oops ;)

Even numbers play by the rules, but odd numbers are more interesting.
