90 days????!?!?!?!?!?
If he killed my pet, I'd be waiting for that motherf*cker outside the jail w/a baseball bat after the 90 days was up.

The pig story in Florida? Rather Deliverance Like. Of course, it was just a pig. What was the real story behind the case and not the media sensationalism of a "Pig for food" case.
The man had a family of 10 to feed. The pig was ready to eat after being fattened up for weeks. The pig actually sacrificed itself for the common good. It is under us on the food chain. Right? I heard through the internet (b/c you know how true everything is on it) that the Pig's death did not go to waste. It has now shown up at the McDonalds Menu as McBaconBurger, for a limited time only.

The point is not that the animal was killed, per se.
The point was that it was done in a way that was cruel and painful for the pig.
Also, this was someone's pet pig, not intended to be used for food.
I sense you're just trying to be incendiary, but I thought I'd just clarify that, in case you hadn't read the comments very attentively.

It's a good way to release stress. :)
Sometimes when I get stressed, I stand in front of them mirror, make the gesture & say it about three or four times.
Works like a charm.

My friends used to say that when we saw pretty women. A code word to begin the hunt.

Oh, I read it, but by god, it's a PIG. There are more things to worry about in the world then a PIG. Now, if OJ would have done it would a Great Story to have read....but he didn't (I guess) unless da man was framed. Johnny Cochran where are you. Maybe DNA testing will prove the PIG attacked the Man first.
What about countries that eat dogs? Ever had it? Taste like chicken.
(Yes, I am being incendiary...have fun! and Smile)

I have plenty of fun - if you look around the board you'll see just how much.
But I also know when to be serious - and I take the lives of my fellow living creatures seriously.
I do eat meat, including pork. But I try to be conscious of where it comes from and how it's delivered to me.
It's bad enough that most of us eat things with complete disregard for what it takes for it to be provided. If we really thought about it too deeply we probably wouldn't eat very many things - some people don't.
At the very least we can try to make things for the animals we use for food as free of fear and pain as possible.

In my case, I speak up so little about things like this - I actually have thought about this quite a bit & have a real opinion about something for once-

It is a pig though......
How humane is the Halal killing of sheep? I had one outside my next door neighbour in Dubai, it bleed into a bucket for a long while, and fvcked up the entranceway for days.....
Or kosher?
You're right, dont torture, but a jewish or muslim butcher would get 90 days for everything he touched...but he doesnt. Can we say double standard.?

Wow. It's still a Pig. and honestly, I hate pigs.....they smell. But I can respect your feelings about pigs and the humane treatment. I do watch Animal Planet though.
Also, not trying to antagonize you. Just thought story was funny, still do, and considering the state of the HUMAN WORLD now with WAR, a pig story like this needs to be written more often.

Everyone's entitled. And you're right - there are more important things going on... just wish I could speak with as much certainty in my opinion about them. I feel pretty helpless and awestruck to say anything much...
Dinz - I hear ya - there's no easy answer for it. I just don't like it when people speak flippantly about killing.

can't really take a stand here, don't care that much about pigs, they are nasty and they bite, maybe the guy was just a klutz and didn't mean to torture it
