Just wanted to say to you all -

As usual during a stressful time, I've noticed a lot people in my neighborhood are driving like they're brain damaged - and not just driving. I've noticed an increase in erratically behaving pedestrians - drunk, on drugs, don't know - they're just doing some really stupid things.

Please be extra careful when you're out and about - If you're constantly in a hurry like me, just remember - it's better to be a minute or two late than spend hours or days in the hospital or dealing with an accident.

You know I only posted this so you could continue to indulge in that predictable line of humor a little more.

;)

Seriously, though - I was driving home last night and at least every block someone in a car pulled an incredibly brainless stunt -

At one point, a really drunk guy stepped off a street corner into traffic, causing the guy in the lane to the right of me to almost swerve into me - he and his equally drunk buddy just laughed and meandered their way across the street...

Today I had to run an errand and it was the same thing.

I remember this type of thing happening during the riots, the last big earthquake here and after 9/11.

People just get stressed and caught up in their own thoughts -
we just need to drive even more defensively.

Here you have to drive like that everyday, people down here dont give a rat's about anyone else, just keep the big ol' truck moving.....I get very scared at times....and as for road rage....
why dont they call road rage "being a jerk in a car" ?
If it was less glamorous, people wouldnt do it.

Did it....

The worst place in the world for driving is Hong Kong, closley followed by Paris.

I've heard Boston & Mexico City are pretty bad...

dinzdale

Mexico City is worse than Boston by a long way...

I have driven through L.A, which would have been mad, but for the fact that it all happened at 5 mph......

Did you see me? I waved from the freeway, but I was in the middle lane....

lapietra

heh - well - the freeway may be slow - but it's actually safer than the side streets :)

San Francisco sucks too....but in an entirely different way. There, every road you need to take is a one way street going opposite of the direction you need to go. It is sadistic. And never buy a map, they lie. There is never parking unless you're ridining with this one girl named Anna that lives there......she can will parking spots into existence.

I failed my driving test twice in Barnsley, too many damn steep hills and irratic Yorkshire folk!

I once drove in Barbados, that was amusing. Getting on a bus more so.

When I took my driving test, my teacher looked at me and said "you know, you shouldn't be driving without a license". heh..

as i was driving home yesterday some very silly girl in a white minivan tried to kill me by coming over into my lane, twice she did this, on the I5, at 70 mph. i finally slowed down and got behind her. she was on the phone.she continued to swerve about the lane, taking up about a lane and a hlf until she finally decided to get off the freeway by cutting across 2 lanes of traffic in front of people who made rude gestures at her. i don't think she ever even noticed

she must be visiting from L. A.

I cheated on my drivering test.....I did, I admit it. I went to a private high school and they didn't offer driver's ed. So my folks signed me up to A1 driving school. It was a joke during our driving time we'd go to taco bell and such. Even at the age of 16 I knew how to butter up that old pervert of a teacher. I told him he was the best teacher I had ever had. I was amazed with how well he had mastered the skill of driving. I also told him and the class that I loved them all so much, I was hoping we could maybe have a prom or possibly a 10 yr class reunion.

Anyway on the last day of class we were given our "Final" and I said "hey Mr. Borogovich, why don't you give us the answers" and he said "Ruth, you know I can't do that, but I'm going to get some coffee and the answers are in the top drawer".........and that's how I passed.

One hesitates to suggest that mayhap most other wimmins obtained their drivers licence in similar fashion......

Red Princess

yes, because as we all know every single one of those people who give driver's tests are perverted 50 year old guys with no hair and a beer belly that drool all over themselves at the sight of a 16 year old girl who wants desperately to drive

but what do you know about nice, eh? i do not recognise you as an authority on 'nice' or anything resembling 'nice' which by the way is one of your more endearing qualities.
