I've just discovered a men's cologne that, I think, no matter who was wearing it, I would have to investigate further... Armani Mania... oy. Words fail me.
Anyone have a reaction like that to a scent? Doesn't have to be a cologne. :)

My favorites right now are Surface by Aramis and Aqua di Gio by Armani. Surface is a bit more relaxed and could be worn with jeans but the Armani smells so rich. Ya know just smells like it costs a lot? Both are pretty reasonably priced. Cargo pants and hiking boots today so its Surface. ;)

I love Aqua di Gio. But a lot of guys (and women too) don't understand it only takes a little...
You're right - it's very expensive. But if you just use a little bit it lasts a long time. :)
Edited 9/25/02: I'm really starting to get upset with myself - I actually do have pretty good reading comprehension. At least I thought I did...Sorry, Dark - if you come across this ... I just read your post again... *Not* expensive, *not* expensive.

Well, I get that way when I smell gasoline or Cool Waters for Men. Funny, but true.
On me personally though, Lucky for Women is good stuff.

My current scent is Kenzo's Parfum d'Ete... I alternate in the winter with Adrienne Vittadini and Ysatis... they're too strong for warm weather, I think. Nothing worse than being in an enclosed room on a warm day with someone who has too much or too strong a perfume on... gives me a headache.
Hey - here's a question - besides scents you love, what scents do you HATE?
Shalimar gives me a raging headache & makes me feel nauseous. I want to like it, I really do. Guys seem to swoon over it.
Exclamation! has the same effect. And that's one of those scents that, when women wear it, they tend to pour it on. Ugh.

my dog got skunked about a week and a half ago. I thought I was going to retch my guts out.

I never *really* smelled skunk until a few days ago... A mild skunk smell, especially when you're driving on a road at night going through a wooded area, is actually kind of pleasant to me.
But the other day one of my kittens got into it with one of the stripey guys, and tho' he managed only to be lightly misted :), I think the skunk hit the wall pretty thoroughly. And it's been really hot. I had to keep the windows shut for a few days... that's some aggressively putrid stuff.
I was watching some tv show dedicated to what smells men and women were turned on by.
In the study all women were turn off by ALL men's cologne, cherries and something else. They were turned on by a combination of Good n Plenty and cucumber.
The men generally liked everything. They wee turned on by a combination of pumpkin pie and lavender.
They tried many different smells, but found food had the most potent reactions from people.
Several years ago, my family was on the way back home from along road trip. We were an hour from home and my Dad hits a skunk. It was terrible. The stench finally dissipates so we can breathe and we arrive at home. We open the trunk, pull out our stuff and everything smells like hot skunk. BLEAH!

I always knew I was kinda weird... maybe it's just the right cologne on the right guy... Come to think of it, just smelling cologne on its own isn't that much of a turnon. I must have been thinking of someone when I was smelling that cologne sample...

I like fresh's line of colgnes called "index" (www.fresh.com)
Especially lychee rosewood. Which I dropped on the floor and spilled. I cried.
If you want a treat, try their brown sugar body scrub. ittsadiefor!
Bath and Bodyworks or whatever it's called has a scent called Grapefruit Spearmint that I am finding expecially yummy and refreshing.

I love Bath & Body Works' stuff. They used to have a line of products in the scent "Juniper & Aloe" that was the most relaxing, refreshing thing I've ever smelled... I don't know why they discontinued it.
Someone gave me some bubble bath in that scent years ago, and I used it one very, very long day after moving from an upstairs apartment (one flight of stairs) to a room in the bottom of a Victorian guesthouse (two flights up, two flights down, many, many boxes of books). I was as sore and exhausted as I've ever been in my life, but between the nice hot water and that delicious fresh/sweet scent, within 20 minutes I was ready to go dancin'. Except that it was about 3 a.m. ;)

I love Tobacco Flower by Body Shop (on me), but on a man I like the smell of CK B! Ohm by The Gap was another great scent but they stopped making it awhile back - the fools!
Personally, I have always loved the smell of cherry chapstick.

Tee hee.. this thread was neat.
On Saturday, one of our teachers at the store had a dead skunk stuck in the vents of his appt. His appartment reeked, which was ok. His clothes reeked, which was ok, too. But after about 5 minutes the whole store reeked of skunk! Bah! Made our eyes water!
Another odd "scentsation" - smelling a bag of freshly opened rubber bands.

i like a soapy clean smell on guys. for myself i like the Bath and Body works stuff, currently smelling like warm vanilla sugar, last time it was some maple thing that they had a special on in the fall. i guess i prefer to smell like dessert, not fruit

There's a discontinued perfume from the 80's that I absolutely love called Courreges in Bleu. However, it's not very likely that I'll ever run into a gal who's wearing it.
The funny thing is that it smells exactly like old retractable ball-point pens.

The only smelly stuff I like on me is sandalwood shaving soap.
My ex's perfume is the best. I don't know what it was, but that combined with ciggy smoke is heady stuff. Occasionally I smell it on other women as I walk down the street, and if it's a pretty woman I'm tempted to stop her and ask, but I never do.

Not on purpose, but yes. Exactly like old retractable ballpoint pens.
I love soapy clean man smell. Love man smell, except when it's hung-over, smokey, farty, need a shower man smell.
As for me, I wear H2O - muriel (sp?) hate the name, love the scent.

Well for you my dear, smokey, farty, beer oozing from pores, smelling feet, sweating in your sleep, need to wash behind the ears, smell, I'd gladly make an exception.

i hate shit that smells like food. no "vanilla", no
"ginger spice cookies", no "berries and apples bon bon-arfic".
i love the clean soap smell as well. i love the scent of lilacs or pine and lotions scented accordingly do the trick. usually i go for clean scents, quite often marketed to align with oceans. for spice, rosemary and sage work wonders.

Are you talkin' 'bout Axe?
They have lame ass commercials with a woman spraying it on a mannequin's pits and across his chest and then she can't control herself and goes after the mannequin.
Oh wow! A hawk just flew by my window! too cool!
What's that one in the teal blue container? I think it's Degree, that one smells great on guys!!!
