What would I do? If I was young & living with that psycho, probably not too much, as I'd be scared to try anything. If I was older, I'd run away.
"Tina! Bring me the axe!"
My sister & I have seen this movie 23047230823098 times, & whenever it's on cable we call each other to spread the news.
"What are wire hangers doing in this closet when I told you, NO WIRE HANGERS EVER?!?!"
Many moons ago (middle-school age for me), my sister & I acted out a few scenes from the movie. She tied a scarf on my head (similar to Faye Dunaway's headband thingy she had on) & cold cream to my face, & I chased after her with a wire hanger. My mother just shook her head & asked why was she blessed with such weird children.
"Hello Daddy. I'm Christina."
If what Christina Crawford wrote in her book was true (& I'm not calling her a liar; or, on the other hand, sticking up for her mother), then it's a horrible thing for anyone to go through. Child abuse is a nasty business, & I can only wish that it never existed.
"I love you, Mommie Dearest."

i read the book and not to defend a child abuser or anything but miss christina was a wretched brat and perhaps they almost desrved one another. she does a lot of pissing and moaning about stuff she wasn't given and how cheap her mother was, whine whine, she sent me away to school waaaaah! i think a lot of what she wrote was BS (in capitals) because she was disowned in the will
My favorite scene in the movie is when she meets with the pepsi boys and blurts out in the middle of the board meeting.....
"DON'T FVCK WITH ME FELLAS"
I watched the movie when I was very small and to this day I do not have, own or will even allow wire hangers in my house. NO WAY!!!
