i was thinking about getting another peircing... but no one here can give me a straight answer about what i should do next, so i'm turning to you guys to hizzelp moi. i've got my tongue already, and a 6 in each ear. i dunno what i wanna do next, but i was thinking maybe an industrial (a bar through the cartilage) or an eyebrow. but i want another opinion. help me! ^__^

personally, I never really liked the bar through the eyebrow..everyone has that one..piercings are so overrated now, I have my belly and one through the cartilage in my ear. I had my belly done about 12 years ago, I am personally pissed that it is so trendy now. I would say, stay off the face and go for a nipple or something...

well, that's why i wasn't really ~it~ about the eyebrow or anything. (a nose peircing would be impossible b/c of allergies ^_^;; ) but industrials? i've only seen a few of those... maybe i should just get my tongue peirced again... ^_~

I saw a couple that both had two barbells through that piece of skin at the back of their necks, I thought it was interesting and definatly more origional than most of the facial piercings you see nowadays..

yeah, we were talking about wrist and neck barbells, but i've got long hair, (and it's getting farking cold up here) so the neck thing is kinda out... and i've seen ~REALLY~ infected wrist piercings (this lady came into target... they were awful, even she said so)

.. i hadn't thought about a lip, though. good idea!

I had a friend in high school who got her lip pierced. I'm not sure if it was the location of the piercing, or if she was just really uncoordinated, but she couldn't drink anything without a straw. She eventually took it out because it was such a pain in the bum.

A friend of mine in college did the back of the neck thing. Then because everyone was so intrigued by it, he went and got his nipples and his chest pierced (just a bar right through the skin about where his rib cage started to split). We had fun drawing monkey faces around it because his nipples looked like eyes, and the other one looked like nostrils. He had to take them all out, though because they all became infected.

I'm going to have to say from a medical viewpoint you're a lot better off going for a piercing in a more traditional location rather than under skin or through lips and eyebrows, because the chances of infection for those are so high. You have a lot of blood vessels in those areas, and if you're not super careful, you're infection can spread and make you really ill.

Well, yeah, but it's the risk of infection that makes it sooooo cool, isn't it?

I always thought lip piercings looked great! But some of my friends started drooling when they took out the hoop. That was wonderful!

And.. how about those.. err.. implants I've seen.. This one guy at the tattoo parlor had a ring under his skin on his hand. Creepy. Is there an official name for that?

I was at Magic Mountain one time and tripped out on this one guy, I guess being on magic mushrooms at the time didn't help, but this guy had devil horns, not fake ones, real ones and it freaked me out so bad, I was hiding behind my boyfriend. I later found out that they were actually implants and what they do, is screw these screws into your scull and then the skin grows over them, it was the most creepy thing I have ever seen!!

*l* no, i think horns will be a little much for this college (they're pretty uptight about what i've got already. like it's a lot or something... heh ^__^ ) we've discussed tattoos, too... my dad's got a few, but i dunno what i'd want to get. that's a bigger decision than sticking a piece of metal in your body. what about an orbital? anybody seen much of those around? i might go for that.

and, for the record, i just started gauging my second hole, from a 16 to a 12, (eventually an 8). but, right now it hurts. *wince* ow. my roommates have no sympathy. they're all "you do it to yourself! haha!" *l* great people, huh? ^_^

Ok, the transdermals are just disturbing. Don't do that. It's weird to grow your skin over things. Putting things through skin...that's fine. Making your skin different colors...cool. Voluntarily giving yourself growths...people pay good money to have bumps like that removed. Although I have to say I'd be intrigued to experience the penis ribs...

I say, get a tattoo! Just be careful to put it where you probably won't stretch out too much someday. An orbital would be very awesome. If you do it, post a picture here!

P.S. I'm not totally square. I have a pierced nostril, and I'm getting a tattoo as a graduation gift to myself. It's just that I work in a hospital, and you'd be surprised the places on people can find on their bodies to get infected.

hehehe.... i am always surprised at what some people do. but, then, two years ago, i was shocked at one of my friend's 00 gauge. *shrugs* i guess it's all relative.

Personally, I'm a tattoo kinda person. The problem with a lot of face piercings is that you're left with the holes when you don't want them anymore. I know, I know, tattoos don't come off either, but - personally - I think they are MUCH more attractive, and sexy! Of course, they can be addictive... I have three and am thinking about another one. At least you can put them where you can be descreet. And nowadays, they are much more artistic and personal, gone are the days of flaming skulls and "Mother!" Not that there's anything wrong with that....:rolleyes:

that's why i'm a little hesitant to actually get stuff ~on~ my face... i've only got my ears and my tongue right now... when you take out piercings ~if they aren't done well~ they will scar a lot of times.

the thing about tattoos is that i'd have to get one that i like, and somewhere i could still dress nicely without it showing. and i know how addictive they are (same with piercings ^__^;; ) so even if i found the spot, i'd have to find another one eventually. ^__^ and, i have to remember that later in life, i do want to look respectable, still. so, i've got to keep this stuff to something i won't mind when i'm a 40 yr old professional. heh. with a tongue ring. *l*

Just for my 2 cents worth,
Dont even get a tattoo unless you really know what you want, that it means something very special to you. You say that maybe one day you'll want to be respectable (again), so please be sure of any design before you (maybe) do it.
Please dont pick anything that just looks great now, while you're young.
Sorry if I sound like an old geezer, but I have my tatt's and I'm very proud still (22 yrs afterwards). I would like you to feel the same about anything you have done.

You said you wouldnt have a nose piercing because of allergies... I have a nose stud.. they really dont get in the way (eventually)

I dont wear a back on it, I bend them into an 'L' shape and that keeps them in fine. And I can blow my nose all I want, and even pick it if I feel the urge!! (Dont tell!) ;)

Yeah, I always wondered what you do about a nose piercing when you've got allergies and have to blow your nose alot. I was going to get my nose pierced, but I have the same problem. I was always thinking that I might put someone's eye out if I sneezed! :D

I love my tatoos, though! It took me at least 2 years to decide on each one, and most of them I designed myself. It's been about 4 years since my last one, and I've been thinking about my next one all that time. I'm almost decided what and where.

Also, make sure that the tattooists are very clean and respectable. There are still some grungy places around, and you don't want hepatitis or worse!!

ahh, one of those nose screws... yeah, i guess i could do that... but i want to make sure that my allergies don't get worse on the mountian before i commit to having a hole in my nose. ^__^

that, and it seems like ~everyone~ has nose rings now. noses and eyebrows are the big ones... so i'm a little hesitant to do those particular ones

I too have allergies and a nose stud. Seriously, I'm with everyone else. It's not a problem. Mine didn't come with backs, they're bent into a hook shape that lies flat against the inside of my nose. Easy to clean, and they don't fall out.

*confused* extreme piercings are already here. maybe not where you're from, but, where i've from, i know it was totally commonplace to have holes big enough to put your fist through in your ears, and, like, 4 gauge septum piercings. you name it, and i could prolly tell you someone i know who has it done. yeah, even those. both sexes. ^_^;;;; sooo... extreme is soo here. ^_^ nobody really uses CDs all the time like that, though, except to prove a point. *grins*
