Alright- what's the wildest and/or strangest thing you've ever done?

Keep it clean.

hmm... craziest...

keeping it clean will be the hardest part. this may take awhile.

ummm.. how about this?

climbing on the roof of my office building with a coworker in the middle of the night to watch the northern lights (which weren't visible but hey, it was fun)..

we did something similar, Freida.

at an international conference a group of us and this girl with whom i was hitting it off broke onto the roof of a hotel with a six pack. after realizing we had no openers we busted the tops off and sacrificed our lips to the beverage.

still haven't gotten copies of the photos from that night and never saw the girl again (she lives across the country).

A couple of friends & I drove out to somewhere in the mountains/farm country (probably an hour or so outside of Albany, but don't ask me the name of the town) one fine evening, and stopped @ the side of the road. Realize that the road was mostly deserted (being @ a somewhat remote location & a late hour as well), and that the closet house was a mile or so away.

We got out to enjoy the stars & just talk for a few minutes, even though it was cold. Since the 4 of us had gone through some kaka @ that point in our lives (work, etc.), we decided to employ a new method (for us, anyways) of "therapy". We all took a deep breath, & screamed @ the top of our lungs. Damn, did it feel good.

;)

We left rather quickly after that, since we didn't want people to investigate out noise.

Try it sometime. It works, really.

Pax,
LC

There was this old guy that lived a couple of blocks away from us when we were in high school. He was the grouch of the town...good ol' Mr. Codger. He had this chain link fence around his front yard. It wasn't very tall, maybe four feet or so. Anyway, one night, we decided we were going to play yet another prank on him. We got a group of about 10 people together one night and uprooted the whole thing. We then carried it to the next door neighbors house and planted it around their yard. I don't know who was more irritated in the morning, but it was hysterical at the time!!!!

:D

Crazy and clean CAN mix. You just need to learn to live with more imagination. Take Ze, for example- he mixes crazy and clean life pretty well.

the wildest thing I've ever done: jumped on sailboat in New Zealand and sailed to Tonga with little to no warning to myself or my family. Nearly lost our lives on the way- really terrible storms for three weeks. Never been happier to see a tropical island in all my life.

the strangest: climbed into a large, clear plastic ball and rolled myself down a very large hill. Laughed myself silly the whole way down.

I went to a school where everyone went home for the weekend, thus leaving the campus pretty deserted. During the daytime hours when I had nothing to do I would walk around the halls with a screwdriver and stole screws from my dorm. From windows, from door jams, from the little metal flanging on the corner of a stair, from door handles, etc.

I had no real purpose for the screws; I just kept them in a cup by my door. When people asked what they were for I would just laugh.

my high school had a tradition of letting the senior class do a "senior camp out" on a designated day. the day after was always senior skip day, and while not endorsed by the school, if you skipped that day, they looked the other way.... this practice went on for years and years without incident....

until my senior class....

there is a small cemetary within a football field of our campus, and during the campout, several people (not me) decided to dig up the headstones and place them in strategic places within the school building (after breaking into the building)

another group (me included) planned to have a little midnight paintball war on the grounds; however, once we found out that the necrophiliacs broke into the school and that it was fair game, we decided (after one or two or twelve beers) to take the game indoors.... (you can see it coming, but it wasn't as bad as it could've been b/c we had almost run out of paint)

well, needless to say, word spread throughout the camp that a bunch of idiots had trashed the school with paint and gravestones and, shortly thereafter, there was a mass exodus from the camp...

of course, everyone skipped the next day, that is, until the officers escorted us from our homes back to school... to make a long story short, we almost didn't graduate, and, if local laws didn't prohibit it, there would've been public executions....

for some strange reason, there has been a prohibition on senior camp out ever since.....

you guys all talk about wild college things... our college isn't that wild. it's work all week, have a few days of drunken haze you don't remember properly, and then back to work. *pouts*

bealeblues
11-14-2002, 03:32 PM
hmmm... i had the all week of drunken haze, maybe a day or two of working (during test time), then back to drunken haze...

fortunately, i had a very dedicated roommate who always made sure i didn't sleep in the places i passed out in.... for some unknown reason, that guy made me godfather of his daughter ('you come to me on the day of my daughter's wedding, but not in friendship'... all in my best brando voice)

funny thing is, i didn't drink in college. i stayed up all night, spent every weekend at some frat shindig, hung out at all the best clubs, traveled around to my friends' cities and towns and still got a great GPA. i didn't drink until shortly before my 21st. and even then, thanks to my thick alcohol tolerance, it wasn't much fun...

i always said "i wish i had enough money to get me drunk."

Did a little while I was in college, but nothing more than a few ciders as I didn't like the taste of beer. The harder, good stuff wasn't available as we were piss poor. I remember Night Train be passed around a few times. (Obviously, I didn't drink it if I can remember it.)

I really hit my stride when I left to do some research in New Zealand. I was 20, the drinking age there is 18. Kiwis are champion imbibers and I learned to keep up.

I returned back to the States a few days before my 21st- spent it sleeping off jet lag. I had been doing enough drinking that week anyway.

Now the only temptation is doing all-nighters in Tokyo...:rubbing her hands together:...probably next weekend.

Ah, drinking in college. I like to say "I had a lot of 'fun' my freshman year...I think." Or when people ask if I drank a lot my freshman year I say "I think so...I don't really remember any of it." My school is pretty wild, and when people throw parties, they don't charge you to get in. Also, we have two bars on campus that are not very good about carding. We also have our own police force and EMS, so no one really worries about the law on campus.

Apparently as revenge, my body has decided that it will no longer tolerate even moderate quantities of alcohol. One beer and I'm a little buzzed. I guess it makes things cheaper, but you can only hold onto a drink for so long. Eventually you have to either have nothing in your hands (at which point people at bars/clubs/parties start to ask why you're not having fun) or you have to get a new drink. And then I end up drunk.

I think the craziest thing (or perhaps stupidest thing...although that award probably goes to the time I woke up sunburned on a bench in a lobby of another dorm without my shoes and my memory) I've ever done (that I can remember at the moment) is hedge jumping. We have these hedges in the middle of a big quad on campus (in Houston, not Hong Kong), and there's a tradition that at some point you're supposed to go out and jump over them (they're about 4 feet tall and 4 feet wide). One night, a bunch of us decided (not sober or course) that we were going hedge jumping. We told a bunch of people, and someone said to us "now remember, don't jump over the hedges because then you land on the pebble paths and that hurts. Instead, you jump into the [very dense] hedges." Cut to the quad twenty minutes later. Most of the group is walking away, too drunk to know how many people had been jumping, and my friend, Holly, and I are stuck nearby each other in hedges. I'm on my back, but no part of me is near enough the ground to have leverage to push myself out.

Holly and I are laughing our heads off and calling for our friends when we hear some voices coming through the quad. "Hey, dude. I think there are people in the hedges!" They were football players who pulled us out. The next morning I found out they went down the hall and told everyone that they'd found some people who'd jumped in the hedges. Our friend who had warned us to jump in (and who was just kidding) had a good laugh.

yeah, we've got our own ems and po-po and whatnot... but we are a very rich school... (sometimes i wonder how i got in ^_^;; ) so there's always good stuff at our parties. i've yet to go somewhere with less than vodka, rum, bourbon, and gin. people... well... people don't really drink beer here. *shrugs* s'ok though, beer isn't high on the good tastes list. ^_^ personally, i prefer nice girly drinks, like smirnoff, skyy blue, etc....

wait, how incriminating ~is~ this board....

This seems to have gone into college drinking exploits, but just for the record (and it's always good to purge), here are a couple of wild things that an old codger like me can look back on and smirk when we see the youth of today:

1. waking up naked in Spain, with absolutely no idea of where I am, or what I was doing....

2. Being 18 and a roadie for Motorhead, and being told there was no room in the main hotel, so i had to bunk down with the all girl rock band Girlschool for 2 weeks....

3. Being in a tent in the Saudi desert - 3 guys being waited on hand, foot and elbow by 7 arabian sisters aged 18 to 27....

4. Climbing in a 4th floor window from the fire escape, because I thoughtmy friend was asleep and wouldnt wake up to let me in. Worked fine until I found myself in the wrong apartmen and a couple in bed I'd never seen before.......

5. Finding my 30th birthday present was my friends 19 yr old sister in bed in just my favourite soccer teams shirt....

Oh Happy days of youthful wonder.......

Although, I'm sure I'm with the rest of the folks wishing you hadn't. ;)

try maple syrup and oats. it looks considerably more damaging than it is and, damn, its funny as hell.

we used to have car wars in high school. we tried to see who could get whose car in the most creative way. we opened bales of hay in back seats, we had car sundaes, I even did filigree work with EZ Cheez to some spectacular detail. one of my favourites is still taping opened bags of rice, jelly beans, chocolate chips to the closed visor. cracked me up.

The organizer would employ the assistance of as many trust-worthy people as possible. We'd skip class, steal keys, whatever it took. After trashing the car we would toss the owner a couple of bucks and all go to the car wash. It was common place that the car owner would, at one point, turn the hose on the perpetrator. I think I spent half my senior year with a perpetual cold.

The only thing I can remember right now was from high school.
My best friend and I were broke and wanted beer money. We came up with the idea of going door-to-door and getting people to donate their coke bottles. (Coke used to come in liter glass bottles you return for deposit.) I went down one side of the street asking for donations for the Jane Doe Scholarship fund and it worked! we ended up with $10 worth of bottles. On the way to return them I found out she was telling the other side of the street she was collecting for new band uniforms. We laughed about it and never went into that neighborhood again.
Not really wild. The wild stuff is probably not clean enough for the board.
