No, not the poster, although he's mighty fine hisself :D ... but the bean.
I figured I'd make a thread talking about the various kinds of coffee you've tried (if you drink it) ... and what you like best.
So far I really like the Kenyan bean. I like the flavor -- no matter who's the distributer (Starbucks, Seattle, generic) ... and I like French roasts too.
And the other day I had a caramel mochiato (sp?) at Starbucks and that was pretty darn tasty. Mmmmm ....
So what's your flava?

I hate coffee, except for the smell of uncooked coffee. It's just one less vice in my life.

I can't stomach coffee of any kind. I must be one of the few.

Oh God, not me. If I could have it pumped into my via IV, I'd probably be happy! Hehe.

You people make me sick! Coffee is heaven! It is what makes everyday worth getting up for. Hold your tounges!
I like my coffee black. Leave the gay stuff out! There is this one flavor at Starbuck that I adore but I don't know the real name...it's called something that sounds like Sianide, but that is not it. Not Sumatra...something else.
But...when I am feeling gay I go for a "triple grande soy vanilla latte with a half a squirt of mint." Mmm...that is starting to sound good right now!

Yeah, I thought about the IV thing too. Maybe you and I should start marketing one. Call it "Coffee Drip"

I love a good strong cup of coffee... Sumatra is good; I also love Kenya... and I do like a good flavored coffee - currently Southern Pecan and Butter Toffee are my faves when I go for that.
Usually when I get coffee out I'll get a Red Eye (a cup of coffee with a shot or two of espresso) because at home I tend to brew my coffee *much* darker than the shops :)

I love French roast.
And I adore, as Spicy calls it, flavored, gayed-up coffee! My new flavor is Coconut creme pie...yum.
I frequent the "gourmet" section of a certain store here to peruse the new coffees. (that term is kinda misleading since it also sells, at the other end of the store, farm equipment!)

Kenyan AAA is really reliable, also most Konas. The rat family has long been in search of the perfect home cup of coffee, and our current coffeemaker is this one:
http://www.mpsuperstore.com/Electronics/pict22965.jpg
I like that fact that it grinds the coffee up fresh right before brewing it without me needing to be in the room. The disadvantages of it are that it has a ton of moving parts, which for heavy coffee users means fairly frequent breakdown.
After hearing all about how fabulous Jamaican Blue Mountain was for years, I tried a couple of pounds hmmm maybe ten years ago. Like many over-hyped things, it really didn't live up; I found it oily and not all that flavourful.

omgosh...just saw this.
the list...of my favs found so far...i have roasted about 20 other varieties as well....the top 6 here I always come back to and I must have 1-5 on hand at all times....my Java is in short supply...I am worried, it was not available last time I checked my supplier/pusher.
1. Kenya AA...citrus tangy, bright, medium body...adds a huge zing to a shot of espresso. If I had to pick just one coffee...this would probably be it...but I would be sad to not be able to have 3 coffees...cuz the next two are AMAZING too.
2.Yemen Mocha Ismaili...omg...complex, fragrant, everycup is a wonderful suprise, even works as a single origin espresso. It's probably the #3 coffee in the world just after real Kona and Jamaica Blue Mountain...but I'll never buy those two...they are like 40 bucks a pound roasted (17-28 bucks green for me)...nothing is that good.
3. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe...floral notes, bright, light body...I love yirgacheffe but too
4. Java Blawan...Heavy bodied, earthy, leathery, syrupy...must have for mixing with Mocha for Mocha/Java blend.
5. Sumatra Lintong..earthy, mellow.
6. Organic Columbian...kind of an "always reliable" basic cup of good coffee.
7. Ethiooian Harrar Longberry...berry flavors, bold, stong but not heavy bodied.
8. Guatamalan Monte Maria Estate...Chocolate flavors, strong body, smooth, low acidity.
9. Brazil Organic Free trade Poco Fundo Co-oop...doubt I'll see this for long, I think it is a small lot...but it is really nice, lots of fruit, chocolate, wine flavors, medium body...great frenc press cup of joe.
I LOVE COFFEE.
I hope that doesn't sound concieted, or narcistic.

Look at all that twitching, shivering, heart pounding excitment you have missed out on.
And Spicy....I totally agree. Coffee should be coffee flavoured, not all that poncey hazelnut, creme vanilla, walnut, cheesecake bollocks.

I enjoy regular strong coffee. President's Choice, Extra Fine grind.
I don't care so much for added flavours.
On a really hot day I like the iced cappucinno (sp) from Tim Hortons.]
For a special treat. I like the carmel macciatto (sp) from Starbucks.
Those last two are like going to dairy queen for sweet coffee dessert though.

I've been digging on Millstone's Chocolate Velvet lately. I like to sprinkle cinnamon on the grounds before brewing. Then just add cold milk til it's the temperature I like.
I had to get 1% milk @ the gas station cause they were all outta skim & DAMN! it felt like a decadent treat, not my morning cuppa joe.

Awww Shucks.
I just know that when we go to Florida to visit family the requests are usually broad. Coffee Crisp Chocolate bars, Hickory sticks, Tim Hortons Coffee, and HP sauce to name a few.

I like coffee fresh and hot with a splash of whole or 2% milk or half and half. I'd rather, however, drink it black than put skim milk in -- gahhh. And no powdered or other nondairy creamer, either -- yuck. "Bleah" to sweetened, flavored creamers. No sugar, ever.
Flavored coffee? Maybe hazelnut, but no other flavors.
I don't like Starbucks coffee; it tastes burnt to me.
Drunken Donuts Iced Coffee is good, with lots of milk.

You know what's REALLY good?
Put a tablespoon of ground cinnamon in the bottom of your coffee filter, add your coffee and brew. It's very, very yummy.
Aphro: HICKORY STIX!! Oh man, you HAD to say it. *cries* ... I usually request ciggies, Tim Horton's coffee, Wonderbars and anything new from Prez Choice.

Oh man, just seeing that photo put me right back in a cafe near the bottom of the Spanish Steps. What I really want is one of those cool sugar bowls they have in every Italian cafe, the one that holds a spoon on either side and has a lid that lifts when you take the spoon out and closes when you put it back.
Allora, tutte le mie mattine (e la maggior parte dei miei pomeriggi) sarebbero molte complete.
You just get back stateside safe and soon, and fire up the old espresso maker.
