titles and ratings. sum senences.

Where the Buffalo Roam - 5
(I liked it alright but the whole time I was like Hey That's Bill Murray... and got bored. Also Johnny Depp is a much better Hunter Thompson, but i still heart BM.)

Unbearable Lightness of Being - 9
(I loved it. I'm not going to say anything about the book, except that if you love it then you'll like the movie. And won't get pissed off.)

The Game - 3
(It was entertaining but mostly because I was eating cake and making fun of the movie.)

Theremin movay - 6

Cold Mountain - 10.
This is my all-time favorite movie now. The scenery was beautiful, the music, especially if you love ALL kinds of music (the music in this movie happens to be very Blue Grassy), was excellent, the storyline was, particularly Inman's journey, so interesting, and Rene Zellweger was AMAZING in it as Ruby Thewes. A must see.

Stand By Me - 10.
Now my second favorite movie in the world. I think this was like Kiefer Sutherland's 2nd movie and River Phoenix's 2nd (not counting the tv show he was in). If you can get past Wil Wheaton and his chronic nose pursing, it's great. Oh yeah, and a young fatty Jerry O'Connell! He was so hilareous in it! I wish he'd do more roles that show how talented he really is as an actor. This movie was filmed in Oregon, so the scenery is beautiful as well. I think the reason I love this movie so much is because it's so sentimental. I'd read the book first. It's a short story (called "The Body") in a compilation of short stories by Stephen King called "Different Seasons." Many people may not know this, but Stephen King also wrote "Dolores Claiborne," "The Shawshanke Redemption" (technically "Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption"), "The Green Mile," and other great stories that weren't part of his typical horror genre. If you've ever read anything by Stephen King, particularly his Forwards, you might be surprised at how goofy and sentimental he is. Anyway, I'm sure Fodder wasn't looking for this long of a description for our favorite movies. I can imagine what she's thinking reading this.... Fodder - go eat some nachos and bite your tongue! Well, not at the same time. Cause that might hurt. Particularly if you have hot salsa and jalapenos with your nachos. Cause then it would burn the open wound on your tongue. Never mind. Don't bite your tongue. Just shut up, okay? :D

Okay, lastly....
Unbreakable - 10
No, I don't think every movie is a ten, I'm just posting those that I felt were good enough to be a ten. No point in mentioning #3, right?
Anyway, back to "Unbreakable." It's enthralling to me to see Bruce Willis play such a subtle role. Although he is, basically, a super hero in this movie, he acts and lives just about the most average life a guy can have. And Samuel L. Jackson's portrayal of such a tragic "villian" is so sad. I LOVED this movie.

Come to think of it, I LOVE anything by M. Night Shyamalan (sp?). I cannot wait to see "The Village" with Joaquin Phoenix!! It's gonna be "da bomb!"

By the way, Fodder, I loved "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" too!!! Great book as well.

of course there's a point in mentioning #3s and the like

then ppl wont rent it, will get something better instead

sheesh

That's true. This is the "Rate-A-Movie" thread, not the "Best Movies" thread.
Okay.
Don't rent "Boat Trip." It was bad beyond words. I'd give it a 1. Also, "View From The Top," with Gwyneth Paltrow. It would be a waste of even a dime to pay and watch it. I'd give it about a 3 only because Mike Myers was in it and his character was kinda funny and pathetic.
"Run, Ronnie, Run" was about a 4 or 5, in my opinion. But if you love Jack Black as much as I do, I'd recommend renting it just so you can see his hilareous rendition of Dick Van Dyke's Chimney Sweep from Mary Poppins, singing "Kick 'er In The ****" in an overzealous and thick Cockney(?) accent.

Oh yeah.

Troy - 4

The only reasons it earned any points are:

1. Brad Pitt looks good naked.

2. The battle scenes were cool.

The dialogue was awful..

The Ice Storm - 7
I love this movie. If you haven't seen it, go and rent it. Based on the book by Rick Moody and all of the actors (Kevin Klein, Tobey Macguire, Christina Ricci, Sigourney Weaver, Joan Allen, etc) are so good, and visually it's beyoutiful. Especially Joan Allen. Sorry if I spelled all their names wrong.

I second "Kill Bill Vol. 2!" But if you're expecting "Kill Bill Vol. 1" you aren't going to get it. Instead of being action-packed and gratuitously bloody, this one is more story telling based. I loved it!
