Of course, eventually they found out. How could they not? His face glowed with the residual effects of that day, as the radio droned on… “…and that was Charlie Parker, off a new release from the Blue Note…” Make it seem like nothing happened. “So, what happened today, honey?” Red face pointed at the sink. Don’t talk about it. Nobody has to know. Nobody has to know anything.

I was the shadow of the waxwing slain
By the false azure in the window pane;
I was the smudge of ashen fluff–and I
Lived on, flew on, in the reflected sky.
And from the inside, too, I'd duplicate
Myself, my lamp, an apple on a plate:
Uncurtaining the night, I'd let dark glass
Hang all the furniture above the grass.
And how delightful when a fall of snow
Covered my glimpse of lawn and reached up so
As to make chair and bed exactly stand
Upon that snow, out in that crystal land!

United States President George W. Bush said in a speech last night that once a war in Iraq was over, he intended to clean up some more of his father's unfinished business - the war on broccoli.
At a speech to a special session of the United Nations, Mr. Bush reminded delegates that his father had declared war on broccoli back in 1990, and that since then, the vegetable had done little to earn the public trust.
"Tonight I want to take a few minutes to discuss a grave threat that all nations of the world should be concerned about. The threat comes from broccoli, a vegetable that has long been an enemy of freedom, and that has done little to improve its taste or texture over the past 13 years," Mr. Bush said.
Broccoli, he pointed out, had been pissing his daddy off even longer than Saddam Hussein. The Gulf War didn't start until 1991, a year after George Bush Sr. declared his intention to eradicate the vegetable.
President Bush said yesterday that it was imperative to confront broccoli now, since it hadn't given up its claim to being anti-carcinogenic, even in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington D.C.
"I'm sure of one thing," the president said solemnly to the assembled heads of state and government. "Anyone who is anti-carogenigenic is anti-freedom. And anyone who is anti-freedom is anti-America."
He added that the U.S. would act alone if the UN continued to behave as though it were an independent body representing all nations on Earth. "No one should doubt America's determination to confront this threat."
While the British and Spanish leaders lept to their feet to applaud at the end of Mr. Bush's speech, many other world leaders were less enthused.
French Foreign Minister Dominic de Villepin said he was flabbergasted. "This is what we were worried about. We start with regime change in Iraq, then we eradicate broccoli, then what? Shall we saw Somalia off of Africa so that its odd resemblance to an upturned nipple no longer offends the Bushies?"
Former South African president Nelson Mandela was more restrained, saying only that Mr. Bush "appeared to be a complete wacknut who appears to think he can change the world the same way his mother changes his clothes."
American Defense Minister Donald Rumsfeld, replied that the French were speaking out of turn, and in the future would only be consulted on culinary matters involving cheeses, baguettes or wine.
Mr. Rumsfeld added that the U.S. administration had never heard of Mr. Mandela.

Free
I want to be free
Of all of these things controlling me
The work
The man
I remember when I was a child
It was easier then
Me and my horse
Off into a land, that was green and laden with apple trees, and a path that was uncharted. Magical, mystical, and no remorse.
Just a girl and her horse.

Five hundrend twenty five thousand
six hundred minutes
Five hundrend twenty five thousand
moments so dear
Five hundrend twenty five thousand
six hundred minutes
How do you measure, measure a year
In daylight, in sunsets, in midnights,
in cups of coffee, In inches, in miles
in laughter in strife,
In Five hundrend twenty five thousand
six hundred minutes
How do you measure a year in the life
(chorus)
How about Love
how about love
how about love
measure in love
seasons of love
seasons of love
Five hundrend twenty five thousand
six hundred minutes
Five hundrend twenty five thousand
journeys to plan
Five hundrend twenty five thousand
six hundred minutes
how do you measure the life of a woman
or a man
In truth that she learned
or in times that he cried
In the bridges he burned
or the way that she died
Its time now to sing out
though the story never ends
lets celebrate remember a year

He looked upon the scene of gothic horror with eyes innocent to the obscenities that were unfolding. The form emerging from the box had texture like that of crude petroleum but in the prismatic gleam a complexity could be made out, a swirling as though the creature were constructed of fractal patterns cast in death. Never meant for human eyes the vision caused my soul to flee my body in a last shudder of terror and then I was consumed. (sorry, have been reading a bit of H.P. Lovecraft lately)
