View Full Version : What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
D and I got to Vegas on Thursday afternoon. We went to Rum Jungle in Mandalay Bay and ate dinner, wandered around and then went to see Blue Man at the Luxor. They were great. After Blue Man, Deviate called me to let me know she was in Vegas, but the airlines had lost her luggage. She was staying in our room that night and so she put what she had in there, freshened up and we went out to the strip.
Most of the monkeys stayed at the Sahara which is at the top of the strip. We started walking down the strip. We stopped at Circus Circus first. The place is set up for families. Personally I feel the Vegas strip is no place for kids, but Circus Circus feels it's okay. They have the second floor above the casino set up with carney games where you can win stuffed animals. Kids are everywhere. They must be really easy to win because parents were carrying around bags of them.
Deviate was starving so we stopped by McDonalds and got her something. D picked up a Happy Meal and seemed surprised to find a prize inside. It was a little stuffed animal and he wanted to give it to a kid there. He gave it to me because parents might think a 6'4" guy trying to give a child a toy for free would be a little suspicious. In trying to find a kid I said, maybe a little too loud, that it was really hard to find a kid. At that a mother whipped her head around and eyed me suspiciously. Maybe D would have had better luck after all. We finally found a kid that didn't have a bunch of toys and asked her parent and got rid of the toy. Sheesh. It's so hard to be nice these days.
We walked next door to Slots A Fun, Westward Ho and almost to the Frontier. By that time it was about 3am and we where all tired, tried, tired. We walked back to the Sahara and checked to see if Deviate's bag had arrived. The airlines had called and told her it would be delivered between midnight and 2am and it was past 3am. No bag. We asked the bell desk to call the room when it got there. The next morning she called the front desk and her bag had been delivered, they just didn't call us.
We went to the Sahara's mediocre breakfast buffet. I took an apple for later and we left. D wanted some new shoes so we went to the Fashion Show Mall and killed a few hours there.
By about 3pm we met Beale. Around 5pm, Spicy, Lapietra and Willow drove in. We all helped them carry their many loads of stuff to their room. Lala had made homemade Baileys. That stuff was incredible. (I want the recipe!) Spicy brought her good friend Jagermeister. It was a party for sure. A little later Klynne called and got herself over to the room. We were so loud I thought for sure there would be complaints. The rooms at the Sahara must be really sound proofed, because I know I was loud and I never heard any complaints from any of my neighbors.
Eventually we took our loud selves and road the trolley to Madalay Bay. I think that was our original destination, I can't be sure anymore. The trolley ride was sloooooow! But we made up for that by singing show tunes and generally annoying all the other passengers. It was great! We got off at the Mirage because the buzz obtained in the hotel room was disappearing fast and more alcohol was needed quickly.
We walked over to Ti (Treasure Island) in search of drinks. In the search we came across Canter's Deli. We all ordered something and ate. It took entirely too long to get Willow's and Spicy's pretzels. I mean, I got my hamburger before they got their pretzels and they warned me that the burger would take ten minutes.
Because Klynne was staying at Ti, we all got a closer look at the Sirens of Ti. A lame, lame show. The women were pretty and stacked and the men were handsome and buff. Other than that, it sucked.
It seemed there was a call for cheap drinks and so we all started walikng back up the strip to the cheaper places. About halfway the group decided to go get some liquor and head back to the hotel. D and I walked with Klynne back to Ti and then we went on to Mandalay Bay. D had placed a bet in the Sports Book and won so we went back to collect. After putzing around there we went back to the Sahara.
Deviate was already in the room on the bed. (I couldn't see how 5 people would be able to fit in a room with two double beds so D and I offered our room to Deviate again.) We all woke up early again. We (Deviate, D and I) called the other room and they (Willow, Lala, beale and Spicy) needed more sleep. We hit the crappy buffet again and by the time we were done the others were starting to stir.
We went to the Sahara's casino and played some video poker while we waiting for everyone else. When everyone had showered and was ready they still needed to eat some breakfast so they were off to Denny's.
We left the Sahara and started walking down the strip. we stopped off at Slots A Fun. This place is a dive, but it has $1 Craps and $1 Blackjack. We all sat down and played some BlackJack. After breaking even, I got up from the table and D came with me leaving poor Deviate all by herself. She did just fine though. She got smashed on cranberry juice and Jack for and played for at least an hour for $15!
Everybody else (Beale, Spicy, Willow and Lala) had finished their breakfast and were at the MGM Grand. We left Slots A Fun and hopped on the bus. It was an interesting bus ride. Deviate had walked away from SAF with a small broom. I'm not sure why or how, but she had it and took a little nap on the bus with it.
By the time we got down to the end of the strip, everybody else was at the Luxor. We got off the bus and walked in. We ditched the broom and tried to hook up with everyone else. That was a comedy of errors. Deviate, D and I went to the sports book to sit down. I went to go find everyone else. I found them and went to go get Deviate and D, but Deviate had wandered off in search of a bathroom and had gotten lost. D stayed at the sports book in case Deviate made her way back and I went off looking for her. Somehow she ended up outside the casino. D and I went to where I last left everyone else and they weren't there anymore. The biggest problem for me was my phone didn't get any reception inside the Luxor. We finally all ended up in one place, I flip out exhausted from trying to get our little group with everyone else. I grab D and we head off on our own.
We went to the MGM Grand and looked at the lion habitat and sat in the sports book and watched the Astros get beat by the Brewers. Afterwards we ate dinner and then to the Bellagio to watch the fountains. We hopped back on the bus and went back to the hotel.
Everyone was dressed up to go dancing. We went to Fremont Street to see the light show there and we were told by our hotel that there was dancing there. Uh, yeah, right, no. The dancing there was to a lounge act which kinda sucked. The people watching on Fremont street is prime.
I wasn't into dancing and neither was D, Willow or Lala. So we went in separate cabs. Deviate, Spicy and Beale went dancing and Lala, Willow, D and myself all went back to the hotel and played nickel slots and nickel poker. Lala found a machine that did really well and played for a long time. D and I went back up to their room and talked a bit more. Around 3, my contacts were so dry I thought they'd pop off my eyes so we said good night and made plans to eat at the craopy buffet again tomorrow, this time with everyone.
As we are walking back by the registration desk I overhear a woman complaining about the elevators not working. I hope she's in a different tower than us, d'oh! She's not. We are on the eleventh floor and I am in no shape to schlepp my sorry ass up 11 flights of stairs, so we wait. They finally get the elevators running and up we go to our room.
Soon after we make it up there we get a knock on our door. It's Deviate and Beale come to collect Deviate's things. She's going to stay with everyone else tonight. We go to sleep and don't wake up until Deviate calls us in the morning around 10:30. She's dressed and ready to go. I am barely able to open my eyes and stuble around the room. Where does she get her energy? We go back to bed, but end up getting up anyway. Checkout time is noon and we haven't packed.
At noon we meet everyone downstairs and Beale and Spicy don't want to do the crappy buffet. I say good bye to them there because chances are I won't see them again before D and I have to go to the airport. They go off and Deviate, Lala, Willow, D and I all go to the crappy buffet. We enjoy each others company and D and I say goodbye.
This account is intentionally vauge to protect the guilty.
There are many other stories, but you'll have to hear it from everyone else. Pictures will come soon.

You know what this reminds me of? Remember those riddles/ deductive logic word problems where it said person A lives in a red house, does not read the newspaper, smokes Winstons, lives on the bus line and has a beard, person B lives in a blue house, does not smoke, reads the newspaper, does not live on the bus line and has braids.....and then the question part is something crazy like "so, given all these variables, who drives a green car?"
So. O-KAYYYYYYY, who's driving the green car? ;)

Well, she did not sleep with me no matter how much I begged, cajoled and pleaded. I can't say for sure, I was only with the monkey's Friday night.

Thanks, Red! That was a perty accurate (and intentionally vague)account of the Vegas trip. I may or may not add to her account later. It's late right now and Spicy, Lala and I had car troubles at stateline and ended up having to be towed back to Vegas for a new car battery some hours later, so we got home much later than expected!
I thought I would, however, attempt to describe each of the monkey's I met in a few words....
Klynne (that's Klin, not Kl-eye-n) - fun, sweet, petite little thang. (I wish we would have got together more in Vegas!)
Beale - true blue southern gentleman w/a kick*ss southern accent. "Bah!" That's "bye" to anyone who doesn't speak in a southern accent.
Spicy - aka Salsa Spicy Jack, aka Dancing Diva!
Red and Mr. Red - This couple would inspire anyone who wonders if happy, successful, AND fun marriages really exist. I don't think any person who meets Red could NOT like her.
Dev - Huge bundle of energy and emotion. Great sense of humor, and can do THE BEST Janice Joplin impersonation I have ever heard.
Lala - (I already knew her long before the trip, but for informative purposes...) Sweet, nurturing, but more than meets the eye ;)

'kay. Vegas from the Lala perspective...
Spicy, Willow and I rode into Vegas together. We got a late start due to my feeling pretty ill two nights before I left and not sleeping well, then crashing the night before we left (when I was planning to do all my packing) at 6pm and not waking 'til 4am.
We finally got started at 11:30 (an hour & a half after we'd planned) but made okay time... They were very kind to let me play all my cds on the way :D and we all got along *great*. Lotta laughing... I continued making the prezzies I made everyone (ooooo Klynne I owe you one!!! Let me know your favorite color...) - little necklaces with hearts for the gals and love beads for the guys... Spicy's got a shiteload of little beads all over her back seat :D
We got to Vegas at about 4-ish, and were met in the lobby by Dev, Beale, Red and Donovan... I couldn't believe how beautiful they all looked - a sight for sore eyes. I collected bear hugs from everyone (Dev & Beale both lifted me right off the ground!!!) and then everyone helped us carry all our stuff to the room.
We sat around for awhile, breaking out the liquor and getting reacquainted... We were soon joined by Klynne, who is absolutely beautiful (looks like a lovely French courtesan) and a very classy dame ;) After drinking a bit more and chatting, we set out for Treasure Island (dubiously nick-named Ti) where Klynne was staying for their big show... We were able to get really close, thanks to Klynne's VIP status ;) but unfortunately the show was a big disappointment; as Red intimated, lots of flesh and gyrating and sexual innuendo and yet really, really bad. Not the best way to start the weekend... I got really depressed by it... it could also partly have been that I'd been up since 4am and was pretty hungry, which was soon solved by Dev sharing some really spectacular yet extraordinarily expensive chicken fingers and pickles... We headed back to the room with the intention of maybe having a few more drinks but by the time we got back everyone was ready to drop. So we did.
Next morning our room (Spicy, Willow, Beale and me) got a premature wake-up call from Dev... already up & ready to go (hey, they're three hours ahead!!! )... I told her we needed more sleep... We got up around 11:30, showered and headed out to Denny's, intending to hook up with Dev, Red and Donovan... but somehow it didn't happen until around 4pm... not for lack of trying! but there was some misunderstanding... We kept calling each other, each time getting a little closer... At one point we were at the MGM Grand and they almost had to leave me there because I fell in love with a freckled tiger... oooohhhhh kitty.... We finally headed over to the Luxor and wandered around (ohhhhhh the architecture... like something out of a science fiction movie... waaaahhhhh...) Some of us went into a wonderful store called Inner Space... it smelled so wonderful and I ended up buying some of the oil mix they used to scent the place... Finally we figured out where our three counterparts were, went there and waited, but at that point Red and Donovan were pretty tired of trying to track us down and went off to spend some time alone together.
The rest of us went and sat down in the lounge to rest our dogs; had a FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC vodka martini and listened to a really great musical duo sing/play some Sade (she sang and looked pretty, while he played keys and sax, really well ;)). Everyone was hungry, so we set off to Buca di Beppo for a nice Italian family-style dinner, complete with cheesy garlic bread (especially for Spicy), then headed back to the hotel room to re-group & decide what to do next.
We hooked up with Red and Donovan again - they had gone to the Bellagio to see the fountain show, and came back to the hotel afterwards. The entire group headed over to Fremont Street... we were going to take a cab, but as we walked outside the hotel we saw a shiny silver limo (eeeeeeee!!!) whose driver, after telling us how much he'd charge for a ride, then asked us what we could afford, and agreed to take us. (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!) Bud Lights all round.
At Fremont Street, we walked around for awhile, listened to a Blues Brothers "cover" band (songs, outfits and routines) drank a bit (I got a drink in a nifty magenta glass that seemed really weak - the drink, I mean - until I sort of started to walk pretzel-shaped), and saw a really impressive "light show" (it was more like a movie made of pictures and patterns running all along the length of the "ceiling" over Fremont Street - fascinating to think of how it was put together...) Then Red and Donovan and Willow and I headed back to spend the evening in the Sahara's casino (for some reason, against character, I had a burning desire to play nickel slots) while Dev and Beale and Spicy headed out to go dancing at a club called Rain (we stopped by on our tour of the casinos - a *beautiful* place...). I was lucky enough to find a machine ("Top Dog") that let me win modestly large (i.e., a hundred units) amounts a few times (I say modestly large because the guy next to me walked off with $75.00 in nickels ;)) which, of course, I plugged right back into the machine. Woo me! But the good part was the cocktail waitress kept bringing me margies (too many to drink). I figure I lost about $5.00 total, and got about $20 worth of drinks... not too shabby.
We went back up to the room and chatted a bit with Red and Donovan, then agreed to meet for brekkie the next morning since it would be their last few hours there... passed out. poom!
Next morning we got up & showered (you really have to there, between the heat and the road dirt) and wandered over to the buffet. As Red wrote, it was pretty mediocre, but there was a lot of variety and a lot in general (especially crab legs :D) and it was good fun. Great to talk with them some more... They left for their flight and then Dev said she needed to do some shopping... We (Dev, Spicy, Beale and I) headed over to the Fashion Plaza where she bought some books and I got some nice shiny lip gloss... Beale got a new pair of jeans that he's REALLY excited to wear out with his buddies (LOL!)... We all got free massages from massage chairs in The Sharper Image (and let me tell you, I am seriously considering selling most of my valuables to buy one... THEY NEVER STOP. THEY NEVER GET TIRED. THEY ARE ORGASMIC.) and did a little shoe shopping... got some sammies at Subway, and started walking with the intention of seeing the white tigers at the Mirage, then going back to the hotel room to change, go to the Bellagio for the fountain show and then to New York, New York and M & M World for Dev to take some piccies...
We got to the Mirage pretty early in the evening... everyone was teasing me about going to the Ti show instead to see me get upset (because I was seriously excited about seeing the white tigers!!! OOOOOOOOOOOOKITTIES!!!!!!!!!) but were very indulgent once we finally got there. Kitty did some sleeping, then marked his territory (repeatedly), wandered down to the pool and slid his paws down on either side of this concrete lump to get a drink (awwwww!!!), then got up and did the whole routine again. I was riveted. Seriously. Big kitty. :D
Then we started walking... and walking... and walking...
... and walking... and walking... and walking.... And then we walked some more. And then we got to the Bellagio and watched the fountain show (it was seriously worth the walk - gorgeous) and then...

We walked. And walked. Aaaaaaand walked. And stopped to get some water... and walked some more. And then! we walked. And finally we were at New York New York. Dev took some piccies... we went inside and sat at some quarter slots and pumped a few quarters in (I won $5, which I promptly plugged back into the machine, because I like feeding things) while Dev took some more piccies (really nice casino!). Then we headed over to M & M World, which apparently has every color of M & M imaginable (including the light brown ones, which are the best tasting M & M's every created) and was closed. Bah.
We walked a little bit, and then (oh heaven and bliss!) caught a cab back. Very nice cab driver, whom I hope you will all write to (Spicy got his addy).
Then! the most amazing part of the trip happened... Dev, Spicy and Beale were revealed to be SUPERHUMAN in their ability to rise above the ordinary (that would be me and Willow) mortals' ability to party, on the last night of our Vegas trip. They changed into spiffy party outfits and headed out into the night. As Beale said the next morning, those documents are sealed. Willow and I drank the last of the Baileys and passed out (not from drink tho').
In the morning we all slept in... Dev was late for her flight and had to take a later one... hurried hugs and boom! Gone. More sleeping... late checkout... walked our stuff out to the car and came back to find the door locked. Wah. Stood in line for a loooooooooong time to get back in... got the rest of the stuff, packed it in, took our Beales to the airport (teary huggy kissy goodbyes), and then headed out toward Los Angeles.
I drove since Spicy was fighting a sleep deficit... we stopped at State Line to get gas... turned the key to start the car and nothing happened. Long story short (and one extremely cute -and married - tow truck driver later), the batt'ry somehow floozed due to the heat (he thought) and so we were towed ALL THE WAY BACK TO VEGAS to get a new batt'ry. Had a nice din-din at the Micky D's at the Super Walmart where the batt'ry was put in. Realized we were all talking with a Southern accent (damn you, Beale!) and had good fun with that...
New batt'ry installed, we finally headed back to Los Angeles AGAIN. Made excellent time (even tho' we stopped for unanimously craved jalepeno poppers) and arrived at La Casa di Lapietra at about 11:30ish. Happy dancing kitties. Many phone messages. Wow! It's 1am. Nice to be back.
Overall, a great time was had by all... I may have forgotten a thing or two... some of them intentionally... but you know what they say. ;)

Here is what really happened that fateful night at Treasure Island.
Deviate, Lapietra, Beale, Spicy Jack, Red and Willow were thoroughly disgusted with the show.
"I am glad we did not pay for this, because this sucks," said Deviate.
Lapietra said "Well, they do look good in their costumes."
"I could really use some cheese," sighed Spicey.
"How much longer are we going to stand for this crap?" Red said gesturing to the pirate ship.
Beale stripped down naked and declared "I am taking over this bucket of bolts, who is with me?"
With Beale leading the assault, Deviate, Lapietra, Spicey Jack, Willow, and Red stripped down to their birthday suits and climbed aboard while shouting ahoy mateys. They shoved all the actors off the ship and did their own rendition of "Oklahoma!" The crowd was rendered speechless. They had heard odd things happen in Vegas, but were not quite prepared for this.
I was jealous, I wanted to be naked with them, but, someone had to capture it on film. Tapes are on sale for $5.99. Just pm me your orders. The most impressive thing about that night, in my my opinion, is Lala sweet talking the cops out of arresting us. She is a true diplomat.

If you upload the digital or other photos online to ofoto.com (which won't let you link images here) or imagestation.com (which will let you link images here) ... you can order whatever prints you want online and they'll send them to you.

I don't know.....have you ever worn dirty underwear??? I mean, I haven't personally, but I hear it's pretty awful.

Oh ... and toe jam. You know that black/gray stuff mixed with dead skin cells, that gets all stuck between your toes? Now THAT'S nasty.
Not that I would know, of course.
I had a friend once that liked to hide cheese under her right boob.
I only brought this up because I'd rather lose my mind then have to wear her dirty underwear.

OK, that got a guffaw outta me. Thank you.
ok well then let me tell you this......there is a subway in the subway underneath the building i work in and when you go downstairs to catch the subway (not to be confused with "going to subway") it wreaks of this horrible yeasty bread stank and it smells just like my friend's, the one that hid cheese under her right boob, bedroom.
Again, I only bring this up because I SERIOUSLY would rather lose my mind than wear her dirty underwear OR wear her dirty socks. Did i tell you her feet smell really awful too??

You mean ...They were all bare and in bed by 9:30.
I have no idea what horlicks is but it still fits in with my concept of what they had if you change the spelling just a tad.
