• I'm thankful I don't smoke anymore (year and a half and counting)
• I'm thankful that my sons are healthy and strong in body and mind
• I'm thankful that I have my parents lives as an example of imperfect perfection
• I'm thankful that I have struggled
• I'm thankful that I have learned to listen, to enjoy simplicity, and to set fear aside
• I'm thankful for being right here, right now.

I'm thankful for the makers of Sudanyl decongestant
Tylenol, for making an extra strength variety
the makers of the various and sundry other decongestants, fever reducers, and NSAIDs that come in little packets and are provided free on my campus
and to my roommate for not making me sleep in the hall last night everytime I wake up to blow a gallon of mucus out of my nose or cough for thirty minute or toss and turn because of my aches and fever
I'm also thankful that my bed is a couple of feet away from here and I can go back to it right now.

Decidedly unthankful for the little virus who has chosen to make my body it's home and breeding ground for Thanksgiving 2002.

Hope your Thanksgivings have been better than mine. :(

Awww.... poor sask. Go back to bed, kiddo. We'll try to keep the noise down.

Thankful for... automatic washing machines.
regaining my freedom of speech.
finding no cockroaches in my apartment since the one I drowned several weeks back.
being alive.
the experiences that made me happy to be alive
finding y'all.

There's more, as this has been a sticky year. But you probably can guess what they are.

Who are you thanking for all these things?

Don't forget, it's Thanksgiving, fellow Brit.

Bill Clinton is in town today to visit Chelsea. One of my students (also American) shook hands with him when he bumped into him on the street.

sounds like something I heard once

"who's asking?"
