On your messageboard preferences:

1. The uploading of an avtar, directly to the board, didn't work before and it might still be broken.

2. The 2'nd option is to put your avtar (an image, gif, jpg) in a web catalogue somewhere and link to it. example: http://www.monstad.no/runet/avtar.jpg
the image size cant be bigger than 100 x 100 pixels.
Some of us don't have a web catalogue to store the image, and have friends to put up for them.
