What motivates you?
I am motivated by the fact I am flying back to L.A. in 3 days.

I am motivated by the fact that if I don't kill anyone and don't run screaming through the streets, all these whiny, shrill, annoying, noisy, inconsiderate, heedless, demanding, messy, loud, door-slamming, kitchen-slopping, stereo-blasting, loudly-blathering-about-nothing, football-watching, self-centered-drama-addicted, thoroughly obnoxious fvcking people will go the hell back to work and school tomorrow and I can get some goddamn design work done in peace.
See? I would be a hippie chick but I don't have that serenity thing down. Vapid, demanding, unnecessarily noisy, utterly self-centered and spoiled people who contribute nothing and suck the life out of your brain really, really piss me off.
Of course there is the chance that the reason they are like this is that they are all just like me....
Yeah, yeah. Fvck that. They annoy me.
I am not a nice person today. Try again tomorrow.
Desperate Housewives, my ass. How about Homicidal Women Who Feel Thoroughly Thwarted? There's a distinction, subtle though it may be.
The only thing motivating me right now is absolutely not a fit topic for discussion. heh heh heh heh

I have been really amotivated lately. I'm used to being so motivated that you have to pry me off things with a pitchfork. I know where my motivation went, I know why it went. Very few people will notice a difference. It'll be back when it's back.

I am motivated by the thought that one day, I will be able to provide free legal services to those who need it.
I am also motivated by the fact that in four years, I will teach children in Kenya how to speak English.

I just try to make it from Out of Bed in the morning to Into Bed at night without having a complete and utter, irretrievable and dirigible breakdown.
I am motivated to do this by the thought that sitting in an albeit private mental house holds less attraction.

Sincerely xfox, I say this all the time. I rarely remember to actually do it, but I repeat it like a mantra

Being told something can't be done, fixed or saved motivates me.
The insinuation that I'm somehow less than successful in my job or something I'm trying to accomplish MAJOR-LY motivates me.
Visiting someone else's very beautiful home motivates me to clean my own when I get home

I have been very motivated lately.
-Cleaned the house.
-Cleaned out closets.
-Cleaned out the shed.
-Mowed the lawn on a sunny dry day.
-Built a little fence on the deck so when the snow hits, the shovellor doesn't try to exit at a 4 foot drop.
-I now have a car, so I can go places in minutes rather than schedule rides, ride my bike, or walk for an hour.
-We hung the Christmas lights before it gets so cold your fingers want to curl up.
-A had the Diabetes Association come and pick up bags and boxes of clothes and toys.
-They come for used furniture on the 27th.
-I am updating my webpages.
-I have paid bills and reorganized my desk.
-Started working.
I am enjoying this motivation and use it for what it is worth. This too shall pass.

Hmm. I'm always very motivated. I guess maybe it;'s because of my passionate personality that I always need to be useful or active. I always need to be accomplishing something.
I just feel I am here for a purpose and I need to be using my time here wisely.
I haven't ever gotten to the point where I have managed dollars and cents how much my time is worth, but I've realized that I can be of great help at my church/ the local art centre/ my work/ fellow photographer's galleries.
I never really have a problem being motivated, unless I am just stressed out to a point where I can't think.
I think the motivation factor comes with one realizing one's self-worth. Your hands can be powerful tools to feed someone, clothe someone/ not to be cheesey, but just find a cause you are passionate about and I know there is a struggling charity that is just dying for volunteers.
And it doesn't have to be for completely altruistic means, either. You build relationships with your fellow volunteers and the people you work with that really enrich your life.
I hope I didn't kill the thread.
:p *sticks tongue out* PBLT* If I did!

If i work really hard while being a good boy I get nothing. This motivates me every damn day to do as little as possible while being a complete jerk.
my neighbor is a total health nut so sometimes i go all "when a man loves a woman" and wrap my wine bottles in newspaper so she doesn't know what i've got. Then I put on my jogging suit and run in place when i see her in the hall and say stuff like "great day for a run" and then i take off. she's none the wiser then...............

"OK, here's your motivation. You're lost, you're angry in the woods, and no one is here to help you. There's a witch and she keeps leaving shit outside your door. There's no one here to help you! She left little trinkets, you took one of them, she ran after us. There's no one here to help you! We walked for 15 hours today, we ended up in the same place! There's no one here to help you, THAT'S your motivation! THAT'S YOUR MOTIVATION!"

OK, lemme get this straight...
I'm lost in the woods but a witch keeps leaving stuff at my door and even though I'm lost I find it at my door.
Am I to assume that I took my door off it's hinges and carried it with me into the woods?:p

So you're not going to help me carry this door around either????
Willow Sylph
11-24-2004, 05:17 AM
No. I will not help either of you carry your doors. As for me, my door is a tent door, which is attached to my tent, which I took with me out into the woods to sleep in. That is where the witch is leaving goodies for me.
edit to add: And if you two don't drop your damn doors, which you have no business carrying with you out in the woods in the first place, the witch is going to catch you.

The witch took two blotters. She's totally trippin', man!
i'm going to have to say money again -- GOOD clothes motivate me.....which goes back to money and pannini sandwiches but i've got to have money to buy them
also knowing there is good coffee waiting for me at work motivates me to walk a little faster to get there.......but without money that coffee wouldn't be there
so i say money
I've said it before - money is a promissory note for the return of labor at some time in the future. Hence money is labor.
The more rare and wornderful you are the more money you can make.
However, the SEC which allows executives at BIG Corporations to sell their stock at high prices and then they later, buy back at low prices, makes me furious. I simply hate that my 401(k) has no where else to go!
