Tomatoes, basil, olive oil, bread, red wine, chocolate, cheese. Address for the nearest Indian curry restaurant.
2. What's the most outrageous thing you've ever done in public?
I’m taking public to mean “among people”. Considering that, I would say holding a carrot in my mouth while two people juggled knives past my head, occasionally lopping off bits of the carrot.
If you just mean outside- granola on top of a mountain in the desert.

5. Describe a memorable slow dance experience.
A high school dance- danced with my exceptionally tall best friend to “Stairway to Heaven”. He basically carried me for the WHOLE song.

As much as I enjoy food, nothing more than a glass of water please. Just give me some headphones and a long playlist of music of my choosing, the ocean and some stars. Food for the soul.

On a sailboat for both- the only place I can think of that has both pillows and ropes in one easy accessible area. ;)
8. Best beloved toy when you were a kid?
The forest, field and “stream” (I hate to say it, but I think it was a sewer drain runoff) behind one of our houses while I growing up.
9. Most memorable party you've ever attended or thrown?
My last night at a hostel I managed for a winter in New Zealand. People came up from Auckland went diving for some fresh crayfish. Had several dinners, crashed several bars, all woke up someplace completely absurd.
10. What's your favorite clothing item?
My sarong
11. If you could have any artist(s), living or dead, design your living space for the rest of your life, who would it be? and what would it look like?
MoN took my first choice. Second choice- there’s a very good playground designer who’s name escapes me at the moment. What would it look like? I have no idea, but you better believe there would be some rope swings involved. Third choice- Farr, sailboat designer.
12. Your bed: firm, medium, soft, or water?
I’m STILL smiling over dinz’s answer…
Firm- I sleep on a futon mat on tatamis.

That was a very nice welcome from all of you. It did appear to take a turn into dysfunction, but that's the way I like it.
why is it so hard to come up with a cool user name? or is that just my problem. There is just too much stigma. I'm certainly not a child, nor am I much of a star. although I'd like to think I am.

here's the thought process that went into the name childstar.....
I can't describe myself in one word, and user names are like cars - you see a car and you assume what kind of person drives that car. which is why I don't have a car.
Anyhoo, I tried to find a user name that was least like me, but then after it was settled, I remembered that I was in a parade when I was 4, so to the people in Floodwood MN I was a star over 20 years ago.
I would drop kick my laptop if Ithought it would do me any good. DAMNIT!

see, what you have to understand childstar, is that mr. dinz is an uncouth, incorrigible soul, having toured with motorhead and all back in his youth (which explains enough right there), and presently, he is suffering from "heel envy" b/c deev and I have full access to miss nyc's collection of victoria secret stilettos, which she uses on us with reckless abandon.... so don't mind his ramblings, he is currently on medication and the doctors are trying to remain optimistic....
dinzdale
12-27-2002, 03:22 PM
...and Ms Star is not fooled at all by your derogation of a caring, sensitive, thoughtful, some say handsome Englishman.
Your own and Deviate's fetish for NYC's wardrobe, probably has a lot to do with your childhood, and Ms Star would be wise to forbid you both access to her personal belongings. If asked, I will inventory her clothing, accessories etc...and keep them safe from those less able to control themselves on this board.

well Dinz,
the security camera in the ZeBoard laundry room tells all. and, although we've been making considerably funds by brocasting the footage on the online laundry fetish site, sooner or later the super is going shut the place down and we'll all be washing our skivies at the Suds and Duds down the street.
if you want to wear Childstar's unmentionables do it in the privacy of your own flat.
(and, if you want to hook up the webcam so we can continue our side business, we'll see about dropping you a cut of the profits).
edit: no restraint whatsoever

There'e a profit in anything these days....just ask Beale.
..and as for Ms Star's unmentionables, I have not presumed that she has any at all, until I have other evidence...it is you who seems to know so much.

oh, hun... I know. It takes me a while to read just a daily run of posts. No worries. really. I just had "gone" as my custom text while I was away. I just thought it was too funny.

To answer your question, my job search has been terrible. I think the worst time to be out of work has got to be around holidays. Everyone you need to talk to is on vacation.
My resume is done and online. I have to start networking with my local ad groups and find out who's needing production work. Maybe volunteer to do something for them. I can't just wait around for someone to realize what a jewel I am.

2. What's the most outrageous thing you've ever done in public?
well..... Do I have to? Ok, here goes. This goes back to when I was younger, 17/18 yo. It was summer and my friends and I have partied all night. We ended up on a beach where an unlucky friend of me fell asleep. Morning came, and the beach was starting to get filled up with people in all ages. We decided to do a prank on the poor sleeping bastard. First we stripped him naked. After he had been lying there naked for a 1/2 hour frying in the morning sun while people were swarming around, we got a good idea. Shaving.
Carefully (as careful you can be with a dull pocket knife) we shaved off all his pubic hair and scattered all the hair onto his naked and once hairless chest. We kept on laughing and drinking for a good while before the poor sod woke up and tried to scream. He couldn’t because he was too dehydrated. He didn’t speak to us for weeks after that. Some people are really crap taking jokes, aren’t they?

dickieC - Your shoes & my jacket. :D
And both you and Indigo and everybody else - I guess I should have made the cd limit 20 - I'd be kicking myself daily for leaving behind Radiohead's "Amnesiac", Kirsty MacColl's "Kite", Duran Duran's "Pop Trash" a compiled cd I put together of my friend Kevin So's best stuff I called "So Far" and Tom Petty's "Wildflowers". But that's the problem - these desert island things, you don't have much time to grab your stuff...
maybe a list would help...

Isn't there a satellite, hands-free, psychic-remote, solar powered, pocket-sized, frickity-frackin' digital output remastered gazillion mp3 selection gizmo out there yet? Well DAMNIT, we need one.
Well, I suppose I'll attempt this question thingy..... I'm so indecisive, this'll probably take all day.
1. List at least five (or more) food items you absolutely have to have at all times in your kitchen.
sugar, coffee, milk, cereal, onions, chicken, ice-cream (or vanilla yogurt w/ frozen blueberries when I'm being good), spices, nuts, pasta, pesto sauce, tomato sauce, feta cheese, red cabbage, olive oil & balsamic vinegar, popeye and sweet pea.
2. What's the most outrageous thing you've ever done in public?
i can't think of the most outrageous thing, so this'll have to do... i drew a bikini on myself in black permanent marker and then went out to play. okay, so i was only 7. had a helluva time gettin' my bikini OFF, though!
3. Desert Island music - 15 cd limit.
i'd have to start with some childhood favorites and then some "now" stuff, (so's i could reminisce). so, childhood: the greatest hits of Olivia Newton-John & John Denver, Zeppelin's IV, Cindy Lauper She Bop, anything Carpenters, um.... now stuff is: rickie lee jones pop pop, norah jones, fiona, sineád o'connor, björk, joni mitchell, u2's achtung baby & joshua tree, dave matthews, old bob dylan stuff. um.... i dunno...
4. Name something you wish you could have accomplished by now. (It's not too late!)
enlightenment. well, also being a singer in a band with the ability to play an instrument VERY WELL.
5. Describe a memorable slow dance experience.
the closest i could get to the guy i had a crush on was to be asked to dance by his best friend (in 9th grade). that was my first slow dance and i was SOOOO embarassed! didn't know what to do with myself (and the guy i liked wasn't even AT the dance!)
6. What would you ask for for your last meal?
a smörgåsbord.
7. Favorite place to make whoopie?
outside in the dirt and leaves and grass and twigs and rocks.
8. Best beloved toy when you were a kid?
i had a white stuffed dog with multicolored spots on it when i was 4. otherwise, i'm like Indigo: Jigsaw puzzles and TREES (all the way!!!!). not to mention mud and leaves and, well, all the stuff i like to "make whoopie" in!
9. Most memorable party you've ever attended or thrown?
i really don't like parties for some reason, but, i do remember one where my best friend karina and i LITERALLY
laughed for about 40 minutes straight when we were in high school. people came up to us asking what was so funny, and left disgusted because we were just unable to explain. it just made us laugh harder!
10. What's your favorite clothing item?
right now, a pair of green levi's i got for 5 bucks that fit perfectly. oh, and a black pair of pants with a leaf print all over them that someone made (wow, i'm realizing there is a LEAF theme spinning through my answers).
11. If you could have any artist(s), living or dead, design your living space for the rest of your life, who would it be? and what would it look like?
i like a lot of artists, but i would have to design it myself. if i could afford anyone, then i could also obviously afford any item, etc. SO.... i'd design (hi indigo again!) a bunch of funky lamps and candles, i'd paint the walls some kind of cool colors. one room would be a deep greenish blue, one room would be a deep reddish orange. you know, new mexico colors. i'd have some huge paintings on the walls, or downright murals. i'd have secret hiding rooms, stairs leading to doors with a brick wall behind it. stuff like that. it would be fun. kids would BEG their parents to let them come over. it would be outrageous but also cozy and warm. it would have a beautiful garden with plants EVERYWHERE!!!! and the wildlife would be screened OUT (as opposed to my living conditions now) so that they couldn't EAT all my beloved plants. but they could be viewed from the garden, and i'd grow them a wildflower field to roam in. oh, lapietra, it would be great..... sigh....
12. Your bed: firm, medium, soft, or water?
i'd have a firm bed (i like futons) with soft fluffy pillows! (kinda what i have now!)
WHEW!!!

you won't believe how i just redid my bedroom a couple months ago. a beautiful dark red-orange wash on the walls (very relaxing) - candles, funky lamps everywhere - old funky chests - the ceiling is gold, like a donegal gold - well, its kinda hard to explain the rest, but i LOVE it. maybe will post a pic when i get a digital camera.

East coast, west coast?) and leaves do rock! thanks! and by the way.... i just got a digital camera at samy's called a FUJI BIG JOB for $119 AFTER TAX!!!!! it's a great buy! it looks like a REAL camera too, not those tiny shiny silver thingies that you can't grasp. my kinda camera! anyway, if bucks are an issue (it was my b-day gift to myself!) you can't go wrong. 1.5 mega pixels i think.
and OOOOooohh! Lapietra! you tryin' to get me into trouble?!!! he was sittin' right here while i was typin' it, then i read it to him. but too bad he didn't offer to take me outside! heh heh. we've yet to do it thatta way..... oh well.... no one is PERFECT (although he's close!)
and when we gonna git together for some cabbage salad? i have to make it up to you..... that last dinner was kinda lame. but, i'm no gormay.

jen
OH YEAH! INDIGO, I just remembered something else. Haha... when i was in high school, (you know how letters get passed in class all the time), my friend Rochelle and I would always draw a little pile of poo (practically our logo!) like your avatar with the little steam lines on it and everything! What a crackup!
