We all leave stuff behind over time, though sometimes it turns out that we've just lost touch with it for a while. I want to know what you've left behind, for better or worse, temporarily or permanently.

A LIFE-LESSON
There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
But childish troubles will soon pass by. --
There! little girl; don't cry!
There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your slate, I know;
And the glad, wild ways
Of your schoolgirl days
Are things of the long ago;
But life and love will soon come by. --
There! little girl; don't cry!
There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your heart I know;
And the rainbow gleams
Of your youthful dreams
Are things of the long ago;
But Heaven holds all for which you sigh. --
There! little girl; don't cry!

Hey! That's mine, too!! We go to Lake Damariscotta up by Jefferson every year in July and rent a cabin on the lake. Heaven!!! Hate to leave but always try to return.

Heck, Jacky, I knew you were A-OK :)
Z'at right!?
My Dad retired to Maine in '71 when we lived in LI and built a house in South Bristol in '74 on Long Cove (Rte 129). We have had that place since his sad passing in 1978. It's not called Vacationland for nothing!
My brother owns the place now, and I bought a place more accessible at Nags Head. I don't have everything, but I'm counting my blessings!
Old USGS map (http://docs.unh.edu/ME/btby44se.jpg)
Brynn, could you elaborate on the red carpet, Oscar, etc.?

Have you ever been to the Prison Store in Maine? I love the South Bristol area: Christmas Cove, Pemaquid Point, New Harbor...
Prison store? No. I don't know where that is? What's that about?
It was 13 miles to Damariscotta from the house, so grocery gathering was a major outing. Then to Pemiquid, New Harbor, Rutherford Island, Christmas Cove or farther north to Rockport and Camden. The house is set back from the road exactly 5 miles south of the Wawenoc Golf Club on the right.
I loved going up from NY and stopping at the Dansk outlet in Kittery, and then getting a delectible lobster roll. McDonalds had lobster rolls last time I was up there!

I'm getting homesick.
We went to so many of those places. anybody know about Five Islands? We'd boat out there to get a peck of steamed clams and gorge on them with garlic butter on the deck in the sun. Mmmm.
We lived in Augusta and spent most summer weekends at the coast - Bar Harbor, Boothbay, Christmas Cove, Pemiquid Point.
xfox - the explanation for the red carpet, etc. is a bit involved, but I think a lot of people at some point in their lives realize that they'll probably never get to take that walk down the red carpet after all, waving to all their adoring fans for whatever it is they first set out to do. Non-actors tend to come to this mature realization sooner than actors do.
For me, I suppose anything is still possible, but highly unlikely. :(

xFox check out this site. You have to go to this place. Pretty cool stuff. The employees are either inmates or guards. From the look of the inmates, I think getting caught with WEED was the most evil thing they did. It's outside of Rockland which in itself is a great destination.

OMG! Brynn, I know I'm not alone in my opinion that you ARE a star! There are a few I enjoy watching as they sparkle around here.
Jack Flanders Wow! I'll have to go there someday! (not the graybar hotel).
Thanks ladies!
