View Full Version : Condolences for my skis

My skis took their last breath today, and I am utterly devastated. We went down a hill and we did experience some trouble synchronizing and we fell. Fate had it that I survived but my skis didn’t. I don’t know how many hours I stayed up there in the freezing cold slope bent over my skis crying why! Why! WHYYYY!
My skis served me well, until they were taken away from me so suddenly. They will always be in my heart. My skies.

Wrap the pieces in your zip-up sweater and send them to a viking's funeral.....

I will drink to them tonight as I gaze into the fading embers.....

"Ahhh for Runey's skis......they kept his feet above the snow"

thank you dev I might catch you up on that. And thank you Dinz, that sounds like a very worthy funeral procedure.

Rune, it's moments like those that I realize why I actually made a line in my budget fo cigarettes and vodka. Sorry 'bout the skis.

Don't they have insurance for stuff like that? Man - whutta bummer.

We need to change this "time difference" thing... you're never around to chat when I get home from work... already in sleepy Viking land... dreaming of new skis....

looks like you will be forced to stay in our little commune of 'hipnotic' avatars, olive oil, alcohol, boogaloo, and who knows what else.....

you loss could be our gain, but that's the nicest thing i'll say all month, so i hope you enjoyed it!

It is actually the third pair of skis I break in two years.
First time, I was trying to show off by jumping off this vertical hill, problem was that at the end of the vertical hill it was flat (try to picture skiing down an L). I did manage it without falling, but my skis broke off right behind the back binding.

Second time I broke my skis (this summer) was from falling while having the skis in my rucksack. I was on my way down from a glacier at night. It was dark, steep and slippery because the whole mountain was a river because of the extreme rain.

I guess I am a mass(ski)murder, and nobody in their right mind would even think about ensuring this monkey. Although it is a good idea, and next time I will make sure to pay the travel expenses with my mastercard and then if the skis break I can claim them on the “on board” travel insurance. It's worth a go.

I made a deal with the shop, so I only have to pay 150$ for a pair of new ones, and I get to keep an extra ski for the next time i break them.

If you want to find me, follow the trail of broken skis.

And beal. If I don’t see you at the Viking funeral, Monday next week, I will come after you with an axe, screaming incoherently in Norwegian.

rune, i'll do my best to pay my ski respects.... and if you want to use the axe, then you'll have to get in line behind the countless number of females whose hearts i have devasted over the years... they'll be babbling incoherently too (out of sheer grief), so it will be a good mix with your incoherent norwegian....

Hahahaha, Dinz. Not bad at all!
I'm terribly sorry that I draw this conclusion, but while reading and looking at your avatar I just can’t help it. You know what I mean, right?
