I met a nice young lady on Friday night.
She was going to Baylor Medical next fall, and was interested in pathology. I was telling her about our resident pathologist (aka Spicy Jack) and thought it mighjt be nice if they had a nice chat to get a better handle on what to expect.
Anyway, I thught about it for a bit, and then decided I would like to see her tits and fondle her bum again, so I gave her another $20 and ordered another round of drinks while she got her kit off.
after an hour spent negociating with a hornet, quite high up a tree, i am now happily munching away at a large boxl of black cherries, which taste like cherry flavoured sugar cubes. yum.

Awww Clytie ... I hate it because it berates women. It makes women feel inadequate and all the articles are borderline misogynistic (wear spiked heels and meet him at the door in a see-through negligee -- that'll stop your man from cheating --- well how about a man being bloody faithful? what about the word "committment?" It's negligable for the male race? pfft, don't think so)
... although it is changing, perhaps there's some hope.

a good rant. but maybe some middle ground is possible. men should be faithful. rewarding their faithfulness with a bit of passion and some dress up playfulness might not be a bad thing either.
nycwriters
06-09-2004, 12:11 AM
It shouldn't be a matter of behave/reward. It should be a given.
The rest should come out of real affection for the person you're with.
masterofNone
06-09-2004, 12:13 AM
so... unconditional faithfulness?
nycwriters
06-09-2004, 12:17 AM
I'm trying to figure out what you mean by that. My initial gut reaction is this:
If I'm going to give it to the man I love, I wouldn't accept anything less back.
-----------
However, everything in life has conditions.
I would think that the ability to love and feel loved by the person you're involved with, and them being a responsible mature adult respectful of the boundaries of that relationship; that would be something most people would want, no?
masterofNone
06-09-2004, 12:24 AM
yeah, i think faithfulness is a natural outgrowth of two people who have a mutual and abiding attraction, respect and commitment to each other. but if one partner starts to drop the ball, to unilaterally stop bathing (for example - or stops showing the other that they find them attractive) or start showing overt disrespect (or even failing to overtly show their respect)... then the other partner is going to start looking around for an exit strategy... consciously or unconsciously.
no?
nycwriters
06-09-2004, 12:35 AM
What about that kind of committment over the long haul? What if things get stinky for an extended period of time -- say six months? Shouldn't the overarching feelings of love and respect be maintained? Or should one just give up and look for an exit strategy?
masterofNone
06-09-2004, 01:04 AM
i was actually in a situation like this. the last year of my marriage. i stayed faithful and tried, day after day, to reslove the situation and continue the relationship. so, for me, i think you should stay faithful... but after that i don't fault others in a similar situation who've decided to seek happiness elsewhere. i guess there's no rule book. it's to each his/her own.
nycwriters
06-09-2004, 01:42 AM
True enough. There are exceptions to every rule out there.
-----------

The huge buckets of dog food beside the back door.
The huge buckets of cat food and cat litter beside the table.
The loose cat litter strewn across the floor. I have to sweep every day.
The litter box under the table.

Tonight at 20:45 (CET) the Dutch will play a soccer match against Germany.
This will be our first match in the European championship.
Normally soccer doesn't move me at all, but when it's Holland - Germany, my blood starts flowing a bit faster.

2 packs of knorr's mushroom gravy, a can of swanson's beef broth and some more water, some green onions sauteed in some butter beforehand, and hamburgers from the broiler....I think that next time I'll add green peppers in the original sautee....it was over rice, and damn.

This is how kids toys are packaged now... makes me crazy. Just a Barbie-type doll w/accessories takes aprx. 30mins of unpackaging by a trained professional to get the damn thing open. Every last tiny part is twisty-wired to the cardboard.
The only thing worse I can think of is the poor underpaid people who have to package this stuff!
nycwriters
06-17-2004, 11:26 PM
Kids toys? HP cartriges?! Try freakin' prilosec or benadryl ... they're vacuum sealed and you have to peel off a layer of paper before you can open the freakin' medication. It's a pain in the you know what.
try this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000C3IDW/qid=1087520842/sr=8-2/ref=pd_ka_2/002-7105784-4801642?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846) ... it's $13 a cartridge and you can replace them individually: two blacks, one yellow, one cyan, one magenta. And it makes wicked repros.

ah. see... there. you've shown me why i frustrate myself. my printer makes fantastic prints. i love my little all in one printer/scanner/fax/copier. i just wish the feckin cartridges came packaged a little less adamantine. and while we're at it... how much of a pain is it to open dvd's. christ.
Audreyvgs
06-18-2004, 12:48 AM
What the hell is that sticky strip on the dvd's anyway? You scratch it off with your fingernail, and then can't get it off of your fingers.
I have you all beat tho, I bought Bink a present for Xms, and I counted 65 wires, all twisted in the back. and real live screws. Took an hour to undo.
I always thought that polaroid also overdid it with like 5 exterior layers of packaging. Tinsnips required also!
AND WHATS WITH THE FREAKIN SINUS PILLS...!!!!!! All those little blister packages, with break off plastic corners, and foil you never know whether to bend off a corner, peel it off the corner, or just poke it thru the foil, but no matter what you do, a little corner of that sharp plastic is going to go under your fingernail.!!!!!!!
