I have sooo many papers due in the next three weeks.. not to mention that darn political philosophy midterm next week.
Tests---> blah.. I used to love studying.. now I can't stand it
Classes--> boring and mundane.
I've decided to transfer. This school is way too religious for me.
I'm happier now too:)

I was too lazy, or could not find your previous post. What exactly are you getting cut out of your head?
Zaftig
10-30-2004, 01:07 AM
I don't think I posted it anywhere but I've told a few people about it so I'll just cut and paste cause I'm in a lazy mood.
I've had this little lump, bout the size of a pea, kinda hard like a bee bee in between my skull and scalp just about all my life. It's never bothered me. Couple months ago I hit it on the truck door and the pain has been slowly increasing. Now it shoots to my eyes. The doc either thinks it was dislodged and is now pushing on a nerve and on the other hand wants to test it to make sure it's nothing cancerous. I'm sure it's not. So in their words they are going to "shave a patch of hair, freeze the scalp, slice it open and pop it out!" Sound exciting doesn't it?

Remember a few months ago my friend Dana sent me an Alf puppet as part of an experiment to see what cats do when confronted with the puppet?
Well, Janet finally decided he was a threat and tried to kill it This after ignoring it for the last four months.
When she figured out he wasn't gonna die she snuggled with him for a while and is now sleeping beside him.
Not sure what this proves as far as cats and Alf but at least she reacted. Now we'll try him out on my mother's cat Frankie.

Dav that's too funny! Keep us informed on what happens with Frankie! Topaz is our cat but we call her Miss Spazzy cause she's a freak. Anyhow, last week I bought a battery powered, glow pumpkin. As soon as I showed it to Sim he got an evil look in his eyes and I knew Topaz was in for it. So he put the batteries in, turned off the majority of lights, hid the pumpkin, which is pink and about two times the size of Topaz's head and crawled on the floor around the corner from where Topaz was sitting. He quickly turned the pumpkin on as it was in front of her face and she jumped like two feet in the air. Evil, but hilarious. Now it rests by where she likes to sit and she head butts it all the time. Go figure.

HAHAHA. Cats are fun to mess with. My cat Fred and I play the chase game. He stalks me and I stalk him. I have scared him a few times, but usually he gets the best of me. Thank God he is only weighs 7 pounds. I would hate to be stalked by a 100 pound cat.

Bless you, honey.
I know how it feels to be "the bad guy". They think it doesn't hurt and they want to blame you, but sometimes I think it hurts more to break than to be broken with. Because not only are you ending something that started with great hope and joy, but you take on the burden of blame as well. At times it seems that no one understands and it makes it that much harder to go on.
FWIW, you have my support and my empathy. Be gentle with yourself today.

Seems when the dog developed a bit of mange on his feet this baseball player and his wife decided he wasn't presentable and brought him down to the adoption shelter.
She thinks they may have hit him some as he cringes and growls if you hold your hand over him a certain way.
He's in a good home now, I can tell you and will be well loved!

"Good morning Sunshine! I just wanted to stop by and see how you are doing! Happy Friday! It is almost the weekend!(peeks in and looks up at clock) Well, 2 hours down! Is How is your day?(I don't even look up from the computer, and let out a rushed 'good') Have a great day! I'll visit you again soon (I let out another rushed 'uh-huh' as if I am too busy for useless chit chat) Bye! See ya!"
At least 'Mr. Sunshine' is down to once a day, maybe 3 times a week... BUT COME ON! How socially retarded do you have to be to not pick up that his presence is excruciating?!?!?!?! ...He doesn't "hang-out" anymore and he doesn't step more than one foot into my office...but GRRRRRRR! I told him I don't have time to chit-chat and I have things to do - I'd complain to my boss but "Coming in to wish me a great day" probably won't come out right. Fvcking morons.

You know... crying along with someone is just the best, most comforting thing you can do. Knowing that someone feels the same level of loss, or can at least relate, really helps in times like that.

so tonight we went to a nice dinner place (table clothes, menu in french, bill in the triple digits for 2) anyhow...for an appetizer we order the ahi in a chilled avacado soup with smoked gouda. the plate arrives and it looks like split pea soup with a large pile of chopped tomatos and two bread balls. so we both taste it. it is delicious, but we look at each other and are wondering where the tuna is and the gouda :( we think the tuna may be baked into the mysterious bread ball thingies. we poke it a bit, still mystified my friend proceeds to ask the waiter where the tuna is. He points to "the tomatos" and says "Well, they are right here sir" It took a few seconds to register, but what we thought was tomatos was the tuna. I was about to die...then I started chuckling, which snowballed into laughing with tears streaming down my face. Needless to say, we felt like total morons and wanted to run.
That is not all.
Then we are eating the "bread ball thingys" and again, we both look at each other and agree it tastes like there is bacon in them. We both do not eat pork, so we leave it alone and the waiter comes by and we ask if there is bacon in the bread thingys. He tells us no, but there is gouda in there. *click* Smoked gouda! He tells us that is what we must have thought tasted like bacon. Good Lord we are stupid and far beyond embaressed, to the point that it no longer matters.
Then I thought my turnips tasted like potatos and was sure it was all a conspiracy and they wanted to make us look dumb.
:o :(
anyways...that is my horrible embaressing story. i shall hand my head in shame now.

He said that you are doing the right thing and that she's basically had it. Poor Brad was a blubbering mess sitting on the chair, while I was stroking Jessie's head and holding her paw. We slept on an old, badly made, cheap bed for the first ten years we were married. About five years ago, I said to hell with it and bought a new, good one, over protestations.
We have never been sorry. It's wonderful. Some rough days it's the one thing we look forward to. Red is right -- some days it's like, "Bed, bed, bed, bed...." :) You'll be glad you made the investment. Worth every penny we paid.

We have gone through so many bed sagas in the past 3 years. Just when I moved from CT I finally had an alright bed. Then I get here and we slept on a futon mattress on the floor and then getting off the floor 500 times a night to pee when I was pregnant became too much so sim's parents gave us a bed frame and really old box spring to put the futon mattress on. I was getting so sick of that so we got an air mattress. The ones that are tall. It was way comfortable, until the cat started poking it so I said "THAT'S IT! WE ARE GETTING A GOOD BED!" I can't wait!! You guys are giving us so much comfort in such a huge purchase. Just yesterday sim said to me, "I can't believe we spent that much!" But to buy a new bed is a huge investment now a days. We had to go for the king because sim is 6'6". We know it will be so worth it though! :D

hmmm...I wonder if those eye drops would be helpful when I'm telescoping...I'm thinking that enlarged pupils would increase the amount of dim detail percieved at the lens when viewing nebulas and galaxies. So I logged off of the board last night drooling for a pumpkin pie. I decided to cheat and use canned pumpkin instead of taking the time to steam and blender a real pumpkin.
I tore into it, made a nice crust and prebaked it just right.
I had all my ingredients lined up for the filling and mixed "everything" up right in time for the crust to come out hot from the oven ready for the filling, which, after mixing it, I noticed looked kinda dark...but not having tooo much experience making pumpking pie i poured it into the crust anyhow (I still aspire to making them like my recently departed grandma did...her pies were a huge part of what made thanksgiving the yummiest meal of the year)...anyhow I bake it up and it looks very dark...not at all right. But I made the whipped cream and ate some anyhow, it wasn't bad, but I was thinking to myself...I bet grandma used cream in her filling...DING DING DING...sudddenly I remember noticing a can of evaporated milk sitting unopened on the counter after cleaning up...Do'oh. Bangs head on countertop...excellent deduction sherlock...cuz you forgot to add the cream.
