Our lab director put a sign on the bulletin board for a baby grand piano she wants to sell.
I want it but got nowhere to put it, no money to buy it, and no piano playing abilities.
Oh, well...

Errr, no. "stuff you don't need but have to have" are things like Tweety Bird shoe laces, super fancy gardening gloves, kiwi flavored tooth paste...
A baby grand piano (when you don't have room/money or any piano skills) falls into a whole other category w/underlying psychological concerns. :D

Yeah, I'm on a mission today to go to walmart and buy new sheets and a comforter for our soon arriving king size bed. I'll have to check it out. Then again everything is freaking expensive here in the boondocks. Back home in CT you could get a deep fryer for under $20. The cheapest one at Walmart here was $80. Refreakingdiculous.

Really? Holy poop! I thought that was the beauty of Wal-mart - that no matter where you were the prices were always cheap. Pfft. That sucks. I was all excited when I went to the Wally's in Kona, HI because they had mainland prices. Then again maybe it is because you are in Canada and wally's is an "american" store. I have no idea really. I am just making this all up.

My brother and I use to Christmas shop together. We would first have lunch, and then several drinks. It made us much more relaxed about the crowd. It also made decisions about what to purchase a lot easier. After we would sober up, and get home and look at our purchases, we would be like WTF did we buy? We still had fun.

Update:
Aftermath, report on the first day of the craft faire. I sold one hat, 5 note cards, and two drink coasters. I have made 1/2 of my fair entry fee back so far.
I'm not feeling too bad about it though, every vendor there said it was very slow for them today. Not surprising since it was a Friday and people were working. those that attend this fair every year say that Saturday and Sunday are much better for sales.
The worst part is that one of our neighbors is selling these super cheap 3D lazer etched "designs in crystal" junk...I think they are stupid as fvck, since I hate "stuff to put on shelfs and look pretty stuff"...but people seem to LOVE them and walk right by our table.... Mad because it was supposed to be a fair with only "Hand made crafts"...WTF did they let some dude with $5.00 mass produced in China shit into the fair???
On the plus side, I met lots of really nice folks, fellow vendors, who were complimentary about my stock and who had lots of good advice regarding pricing and other good local fairs to attend.
The lady I am splitting table space with, Maya, is REALLY cool and our neighbors are all very nice too. It was a very pleasant day overall...although mostly kind of boring.
OMG, and the kids there were super cute. Several young girls (10-16 yo's) loved my hats and were trying them on and goofing around...unfortunatly they were not BUYING them :(. Also very cute was an interesting phenomenom that EVERY child under 4 years old could not stop staring at me and smiling...it was kind of freaky, but in a very cute way. Since I am very much in a "whoa kids are super cute" mode it made for lots of laughs for Maya and I once we realized that it was going on. We were all, "look, here comes another...yep...he/she is staring at you" :D :D :D.
Looking forward to tommorow...the longest day of the fair.
Good night folks...I'm calling it a night....beer, dinner, and bed are calling my name...in that order.

I took Sim to Wally world Sat. It was our last place to look at bedding. I had already been there on Friday but they didn't really have anything. So as we entered and I could feel Sim's irritation shoot to 100% I had to act quick, I told him your Christmas shopping methods. He cracked up and said he wanted to go Christmas shopping with you and your brother. :D

Coffee's Crafting adventure update:
Well the craft is over and I made my show costs back...but not through hat sales...I only sold one hat to my mom... :( .
What saved me was bringing my train t-shirts for day 2 and 3...I sold enough to make a small profit.
The other vendors were VERY encouraging and tell me not to lose heart. The venue was just way wrong for my HIP HATS. I need to pursue street fairs and music festivals that draw hipper crowds. This "holiday craft faire" was a Grandma and conservative old dudes magnet...not the crowd for my hats...but enough of them were rail fans and bought enough t's and mugs that I at least didn't lose money on the show.
I made some new friends amoung the vendors (very very very VERY nice people), learned alot about craft fairs/proffesional crafting, and got great leads for fabric suppliers in the area and other good shows for me to attend...plus I traded some of my t-shirts and mugs for some cool stuff from other vendors (hand made soap, some neat fabirc throws that I will use as table cloths for future shows) as well as I got some GREAT ideas for other products I can make.
It was a very good weekend despite the low volume of sales.

so i broke down and went grocery shopping as i was once again down to condiments that even a stoner couldn't put together...
anyhow...it was horrible, as always...and to top it off i think it was "college singles night" in there- the place reeked of cheap fraternity boy cologne and sweaty athletes- So I load up on all the necessities and check out and the lady asks for my Vons card. ****! I left it in the car. Well, mine is about 5 phone numbers ago so I have no clue what phone number to give them, then I try to think of all my friends phone numbers but I don't know them by heart and my phone was in the car for some reason too. ****! So I ask the lady behind me for hers and she said no because she has to save up for something or another and I wasn't gonna tell her she is stupid and just give me the damn card. I look at the cashier with **** you I hate you and you stupid system eyes and tell her this is bullshit. I pay and see "You could have saved $18.78" ****! I make a big ol' scene and storm out to my car. I find the ****ing Vons card and go back for my money putting on another raving tantrum that would rival a jewish grandmother. Anyhow - **** Vons and all the other card programs. It is bullshit.

Clytie,
Between my parents, brothers and I we have nailed 13 deer with our cars during the past few years (me, two within a month on the same road). I also hit a turkey last Easter. Hunting season sucks for drivers. Why does hunting season coincide with the rut (for those of you that are in non deer states this means mating season)?

1) Because that's when they're occupied by other concerns than hunters trying to shoot them--and that makes them easier to shoot
2) The animals are less likely to be preggers
3) They're plumper and more juicy

Yeah, back in my day, the fact that I loved them labeled me as a nerd.
Oh, wait...it still does. And I still am.
I'm glad they didn't call their one song "We Are But Dust In The Wind." Because it would have been turned by some smartaleck nerd into "We Are Butt Dust In The Wind." And that would have been too bad.

We have our new bed!!!!! Stupid people from the furniture store though. I called on Friday to find out when it was coming in because it was delayed. They said monday. I called back yesterday to find out if we could set up delivery to our home and Miss Bubbles cust. serv. rep said "We can't home deliver until Dec. 14. . but did you know your order is all here?" No phone call, nothing to let us know it was all in our location. You'd think they would have called because they have no in store warehouse. Dip shits. So we paid Sim's friend with a case of beer to help us pick up the mattress set and TV and we had our first night in our new bed! It freaking huge! We need GPS tracking to find each other.
