I think my espresso maker is about to die. It was only 100$ and my very first internet purchase 6 years ago and I think it's seal is finally shot. I'm impressed with how long it's lasted and how good it makes espresso. I hope I find a replacement soon.

I'll just chalk that up to one more thing I'm bitter about not having 'cause I'm single. If I were married, I'd have sooo much more cool stuff.
I don't get it: get married, everyone showers you with tons of cool stuff in preparation for having twice the income and half the housing expense.
Stay single, pay for everything yourself, and get Jack Shyte.

You're gonna make it. Just try to add things to your schedule that you can't do because you're smoking. For example - try walking up stairs fast... ;) Find a dog or a cat to pet (they don't like smoke much)...
And may I suggest Altoids Sugarless Gum. Very good for the oral fixation ;)

Well, I caught a bad headcold, as I am prone to do during finals, because I always run myself down. So I've been coughing and coughing and my chest is burning, so I decided to lay off the cigs for a few days.
Now I'm feeling better, but I'm still stressed about finals. I want a cigarette but I've got a six-day head start on quitting, plus if I start again I'm probably gonna end up with bronchitis....
So I'm going to try to go with it.

I try to talk to my dad about my convos I have with people on my boards and he is convinced that every person on a message board is a sweaty sex crime convict that is posing as a sweet young lady or guy.
I wonder if the opposite is true. You hear about old guys posing as fourteen year old girls- I wonder if Dinz is really a fourteen year old girl posing as a dirty old man.......
I am not sweaty, and I like sex, but I have never been convicted. I wonder about JT though.

Here ya go, Gatsby:
Q: "Yes! We Have No Bananas" _In one of our client meetings, this phrase has come up very often. One of the members of the group wants to know the origin of the phrase. We know that it traces back to the vaudeville song of the same title, but do you have any information on the phrase which predates the song? Or did the phrase simply emerge because of the song itself?
A: You must have some fun clients (or some very odd ones!) _YES! WE HAVE NO BANANAS by Frank Silver and Irving Cohn, was arguably the most popular song of the 1920s. It was released on March 23, 1923 and kicked around the Vaudeville stage without much impact until Eddie Cantor happened to hear it. Cantor put the song into his new show "Make it Snappy" and the rest is history. Popular recordings were made by Cantor and by Billy Murray and by Billy Jones. The song became a hit, then a mega-hit, then a phenomenon. In England, the sheet music sold more than half a million copies during its first month of sales. Unlike most popular songs of the era, it never faded in popularity and even today it is one of the few songs that you can count on virtually anyone to know.
Legend has it that the songwriters overheard a Greek fruit stand owner utter the famous phrase. It may be true, but the Greek fruitier was also a stock character in Vaudeville and it is just as likely that it was the song was inspired by a Vaudeville routine or written as yet another in a tradition of dialect songs. However it was inspired, you can safely say the song originated the phrase. There is also a story that "Ja, Wir Haben Keine Bananen (Heute)" was banned by Nazi censors as anti-Aryan propaganda.
After the song became a hit, the Westman Company, which published the sheet music for Handel's Messiah took the publishers of "Bananas" to court, claiming that the melody was a direct steal from a portion of the Messiah. They won and were awarded a share of the song's profits. Actually the song seems to be a pastiche of several popular pieces of music. According to "The Treasury of Popular Song", the tune of the chorus goes:
Hallelujah, Bananas
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me
I dreamt that I dwelt in marble halls
the kind that you seldom see
I was seeing Nellie home
to an old fashioned garden, but
Hallelujah, Bananas
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me
The song everyone knows is actually just the chorus of the original song. Hardly anyone knows that verses ever existed. (In fact I didn't until you asked)
Yes! We Have No Bananas
There's a fruit store on our street
It's run by a Greek.
And he keeps good things to eat
But you should hear him speak!
When you ask him anything, he never answers "no".
He just "yes"es you to death,
and as he takes your dough, he tells you...
Yes! We have no bananas
We have no bananas today
We have string beans and onions, cabBAges and scallions
and all kinds of fruit and say
We have an old fashioned toMAHto
A Long Island poTAHto, but
Yes! We have no bananas
We have no bananas today

Nice day today.
My bandmates and I, and 9 other amatuer astronomers helped the Astronomical Society of the Pacific's Night Sky Network (a NASA funded astronomy outreach program) review a set of educational materials to teach the concept of Black Holes. The final materials will probably be released to Night Sky Members in April or May. It was a really cool day. The ASP came up with some very cool (and a few not so cool) projects, games, hands on demonstrations, Power Point progams, and Star Party handouts that we all reviewed and then critiqued, suggested changes, etc.
The ASP is the group that gave my Astro outreach band an award this year. It was very cool that we were specifically invited to help. It was held at the Chabot Science Center in Oakland, a great setting for the day.
It's weird...I'm like an expert in a very cool science niche (astronomy educational outreach), I'm helping out NASA with my insight into this field...yet I can't hardly understand algebra or any math beyond Plus, Minus, Divide, %, fractions, and Multiply.

I doubt he'll change it. I think they only change the jury's decision if there was an error of law committed. In this case, I think the judge will honor the jury's recommendation.

The attorney speaking said she did not believe the judge would change it either; but that he did have the power to do so. She also said that if for some reason he did, she thought it would be because this was largely a circumstantial case. ( Her name is Linley Brown on CNN. )

hey look, it's out of my hands..... maybe the announcement will be tomorrow, i don't know. i told y'all that i'm not announcing jack shit until everyone can participate in full.....
so impatient! I object! Counselor said the announcement would be today.
To not make it today reneges on the previous statement, isn't that correct?

assuming we had an oral contract, which at all times i deny, even if there was a breach of said contract, which at all times i deny, you still have yet to establish any measure of damages which you may have sustained, and i further submit that even if damages were sustained, which at all times i deny, you have failed to mitigate those damages, thereby reducing your said damages, if any, to a level that is miniscule, at best. thus, your claim, if indeed you have one, which at all times i deny, isn't ripe for adjudication at this point at time, rendering all arguments and submissions premature.
defense rests.
