Well, I'd like to, but Rune is at a wedding on the Saturday and I am celebrating mine and my sister's birthdays on the Saturday too, so it looks like an el cheapo flight FROM Amsterdam to me...

To get to Oxford, probably Heathrow. But the cheapy flights don't generally go there, more likely to Stansted or Luton. Luton is OK, but getting from either Stansted or Luton to Oxford on a Sunday is v v tiresome - the M25 round London is always jammed up with people from London going home after their weekends away. Actually, that applies to all the London airports.

Bloody Londoners....

Anyway, don't get your hopes up too high, it depends on Rune's girlfriend being willing to drive him, and him being sober enough to get up in the morning on Sunday. We shall see....

Rune's wedding is in Surrey. Like I said, he may not make it. It seems an awfully long way to come just for a drink in a pub!

You can get from Heathrow to Oxford by train. Take the Heathrow Express from the airport to London Paddington, then the train to Oxford, about one an hour.

According to the Ryanair website, the trains from Stansted into London are all suspended on Sundays during the summer, as there is maintenance work. Going by bus into London, crossing the city and then going to Oxford is likely to take something like three or four hours one-way (I'm not joking). There is a direct Oxford-Stansted bus, but it takes 3 hours, and goes through lots of back-roads in the country. It's a pain; don't do it.

I don't know about trains from Luton.

If you REALLY want to come just for the day, Heathrow is pretty much the only option. About 1 1/2 hours on the bus to Oxford, for about £19 (though I think you can now pay in euros).

I don't know whats expected of me in this wedding hell and they are to stressed to answer coherently if I dare to ask. The idea was to escape to oxford if i had a chanse. I'm sorry that I am a pain in the butt making plans with, but thats the story of my life.
