Morning light peeks in
And I quickly check the clock
late for work again
Got to get some gas
Before I end up walking
Through the morning rain
Still groggy, I yawn
Fumble for the coffee cup
Drips spill on my tie
"Eggs are like flowers"
A yummy, tasty daisy
...now a yellow stream
It's funny, I thought,
how things can change so quickly
just like traffic lights
One, two, three, repeat
six streams of yellow lava
make a run for it
Grabing toast to go
And an apple for good luck
twist the stem for love
My car is so old
it huffs and puffs at twenty
i know its faking
Daydreams at the lights
And loud honking at my back
Startled, I yell back
"Go suck a lemon!"
He did not look so burly
in his pin-striped suit
traffic is so weird
it's tourist season again
Margaritaville
My mood is changing
I feel like a tall cool one
but its 9 A.M.
A long day ahead
thinkin' about things she said
Its just nag, nag, nag
Happiness is a
ghost I stopped trying to find
dancing on my grave
It's just one more day
before I know I will pay
the Yakuza men
With parts of myself
Lopped off in brutal fashion
I need money now.
arriving at work
someone has parked in my space
it now sours my day.
Often at these times
i find comfort in revenge
and pee on his car
I walk in the door
giggling to myself softly
despite my wet leg
People look away
Gray cubicles are mocking
my inbox is full
I must find a way
to break away from this cage
or i just might melt
"Good morning" said Tish
smelling of cheap, bad perfume
which makes me horny
"You look fabulous."
I'm picturing her naked
"Really? Do you like?"
Showing off her shoes
Knowing that she's sweet torment
She twirls - what a flirt !
"By the way..." she says.
"Staff meeting at 3 PM."
"don't be late this time"
As she walks away
I watch her hips move like an
old lover I knew
My phone is ringing
But can anyone be home?
(to me... work is home)
"Hello, my darling"
"You are in some deep trouble!"
"I saw you with Tish."
Crap...stupid webcam
Now I'll have to jump through hoops
oh the trials of love
Its sweet salty sting
Brings back the taste of her flesh
love needs some ketchup
I said that out loud
and instantly turn beet red
knowing I've blown it.
Still, her voice softens
the dew of my summer morn
I bend to her will.
I order flowers
Should I order eggs instead?
Infertile woman...
Checking my inbox
Grow your penis, bigger breasts

So where to click next?
"Yakuza sends good fortune"
Japanese are vexed
"Today you will die"
Shouldn't check my horoscope
"And have a nice day"
Need a coffee break
Been here an hour by now
sweet caffine haven
Sniff...mmm...eau d'hump
"Heeyas ya mail Mistah Jennings"
Junk, all of it junk
What's this? A card for
a warning. Yakuza says:
"Lilies for Darling"
anagram perhaps?
i jot words down for an hour
"girl dies in floral!"
what a shame, i smirk
just another dumb headline
wasting people's time
beauty and the beast
Timeless tale of love and woe
Yes, they come and go
What does this all mean?
and where is my red stapler?
i leave, loose and lost
Why, why, keep this job?
I'd much rather stay in bed
But must pay my rent
Daily grind beckons
Another ass breaking day
Laundry basket full.
Time to leave today
Just to wake up tomorrow
to smell Tish again
Tish is quite the dish
Secretly had with my eyes
But I know the truth
Driving down I-9
wind blowing in my hair, I
hear a thump, thump, thump
Questioning stopping,
Damn, its another flat tire
Just ride it to town
Rims suck anyway
Bad move...that broke my bearings.
Must call for a ride
Cell battery dead
Stick out my thumb for a ride
Shaggy red-neck stops
"Whar you headin', bwah?"
"Well just up yonder" I said.
"Can I catch a lift?"
"Shuh, hop in," he said.
The country music station
played a drawling tune
'Waitin' on Joe' blares
The truck is a fricking mess
as trucks often are
"Y'Ever killed a man?"
"uh...you can let me off here"
He makes me nervous
"y' sure are perty"
the banjo solo kicks in
from 'Deliverance'
I open the door
jump out and roll to shoulder
dislocate my knee
pain is no stranger
It has always been a friend
that I can't shake off
Walking with a limp
I trudge towards my workplace
heading the wrong way
I should be home now
dreaming of a naked Tish
but she is at work
Dancing for strange men,
she prances on a lit staqe,
earning more than me.
Much more, counting tips
and some shady backroom deals
We once laughed about
But it's not too late
God will deliver my fate
just like Dominos
cheesy providence
(if it IS too late, no charge)
anchovies, extra
Hey, do I smell fish?
Only perfume memories.
Tish invades my mind!
I find a phone booth
Alas, I have no quarter
and no one to call
"For a good time call
Tish!", I find written inside.
Match, light my fire.
The phone booth smolders
A to K, then L to Z
Alpha, Omega.
My mind is melting
Did Joan of Arc suffer so?
What does it all mean?
I leave the phone booth
Gotta get to work!...or home...
Where she is waiting...
I am sick with love
that, or the pasta buffet
avoid the bleu cheese!
Lunch over, back home.
Wait! Supposed to be at work!
Wait! Not Lunch! Dinner!
I've lost track of time
I'm broke and broken hearted
It is time for change
Starting tomorrow
Tomorrow is a new day
Move to Atlanta?
Maybe Dunwoody?
Back to where I was a boy
Begin life again.
Nah! I hate Tifton!
Packing my bags, time to go
Future, here I come!
Lock my apartment
Did I turn that iron off?
Where are my car keys?
Next stop, gas station!
or perhaps the hospital
Don't smoke while pumping!
Open road ahead
top down, big smile on my face!
nothing can go wrong
Hitchiker needs ride
Should I stop? She looks like Tish.
I stop anyway.
"Hows it going Hon?"
"Where are you headed to, Tish?"
as she clambers in.
"My name is not Tish
though I have a twin sister
that's what we call her!"
"Do you know her, Hon?"
"Are you two identical?"
"You'll find out" she laughs.
This made me wonder
Am I awake or asleep?
Or are they the same?
Awake in a dream
Or dreaming when I'm awake?
quite the conundrum
Drums beat in my head
Waking me from this dream life
To an urgent need
Dang, I have to pee!
Bladder, please don't fail me now
I so hate wet pants
Stumble to the loo
I should have turned the lights on
There before me stood
Tish and her sister
Brandishing tacky sex toys
Just how I like 'em
"Erm...coffee?" I ventured.

Waking me from this dream life

"Grab him, quick!" Tish crowed

Morning light peeks in
And I quickly check the clock
late for work again
Got to get some gas
Before I end up walking
Through the morning rain
Still groggy, I yawn
Fumble for the coffee cup
Drips spill on my tie
"Eggs are like flowers"
A yummy, tasty daisy
...now a yellow stream
It's funny, I thought,
how things can change so quickly
just like traffic lights
One, two, three, repeat
six streams of yellow lava
make a run for it
Grabing toast to go
And an apple for good luck
twist the stem for love
My car is so old
it huffs and puffs at twenty
i know its faking
Daydreams at the lights
And loud honking at my back
Startled, I yell back
"Go suck a lemon!"
He did not look so burly
in his pin-striped suit
traffic is so weird
it's tourist season again

My mood is changing

Happiness is a

dancing on my grave
It's just one more day

With parts of myself
Lopped off in brutal fashion
I need money now.

someone has parked in my space
it now sours my day.
Often at these times
i find comfort in revenge
and pee on his car
I walk in the door
giggling to myself softly
despite my wet leg
People look away
Gray cubicles are mocking
my inbox is full
I must find a way
to break away from this cage
or i just might melt
"Good morning" said Tish
smelling of cheap, bad perfume
which makes me horny
"You look fabulous."
I'm picturing her naked
"Really? Do you like?"
Showing off her shoes
Knowing that she's sweet torment
She twirls - what a flirt !
"By the way..." she says.
"Staff meeting at 3 PM."
"don't be late this time"
As she walks away
I watch her hips move like an
old lover I knew
My phone is ringing
But can anyone be home?
(to me... work is home)
"Hello, my darling"
"You are in some deep trouble!"
"I saw you with Tish."
Crap...stupid webcam
Now I'll have to jump through hoops
oh the trials of love
Its sweet salty sting
Brings back the taste of her flesh
love needs some ketchup
I said that out loud
and instantly turn beet red
knowing I've blown it.
Still, her voice softens
the dew of my summer morn
I bend to her will.
I order flowers
Should I order eggs instead?
