They also come with cinnamon, too. But that's even more exciting. You may want to avoid those. ;)

Perky Pat

I was sitting on the settee thinking that "bathrobe" is nearly the same word as "bathbore". Then I began to think about something else.

I was sitting here thinking about sitting on my settee in my bathrobe and then had to stop to do some work. I might think about it some more on my way home.

lapietra
12-01-2003, 07:43 PM
I just put my bathrobe in the washing machine, during which action I thought about the fact that I need to find more work, so that I may buy a settee upon which to sit.
I will probably think about this more, later, when I retrieve my bathrobe from the washing machine.

Perky Pat

I was sitting thinking about all the settees in the world and all the people not doing much on them, in their bathrobes.

maychorian
12-02-2003, 12:05 AM
My bathrobe has been in my car, in an overnight bag, since the first week of November.

I don't own settee. Neither does anyone I know, I don't think. Is it like a loveseat? We have those.

My car is a huge mess, but I'll probably never clean it out. I'll get in a huge car crash someday, and the rescue workers won't be able to save me, because I'll be covered in Taco Bell wrappers, old assignments, my laptop, my bookbag, my CD collection, two overnight bags, a couple of board games, an umbrella, a jacket, a sweatshirt, and a blanket.

Hmm. That was a wee bit too interesting, wasn't it? I'm too bored even to consider whether it was or not.

I just yawned, and when I yawned, a little tear squeezed out the corner of my eye. I wiped it away and noticed that some eyeliner came off too. I briefly thought about reapplying it but then realized I'm not going out 'til much later. Then I yawned again, making a little "hehhh" sound.
I think I may take a little nap.

As I woke up from my slumber I staggered to the en-suite bathroom on my 250' luxury yacht. I yawned as my butler laid out my clothes and scratched myself idly as he ran my bath water and could not decide between eggs bendict or lightly smoked kipper for breakfast. The sattelite phone was already ringing off the hook, but I refused to answer it until after my ablutions. Turned out to be the damned Bank of England again wanting another loan. Bollocks! I thought as I sat down for my repast, and informed the crew to pull out of Cannes. Heidi Klum was still fast asleep and would probably miss her flight later this morning. Ah well, another freeloading supermodel I guess.
I can see today is going to be another tedious slog....*sigh*....

Sorry McPerkles....I actually thought "Pants and double pants", but I was trying to be universally understood. Heidi is always nit-picking and pulling me up in regards to my idiom. I cant beleive that woman sleeps so much after a couple of hours of sex. God she's getting so tedious....

Perky Pat
12-04-2003, 07:54 PM
I was was wondering if Heidi was a Swiss woman, and if so, whether she had had diffficulty adapting to being on a yacht, since Switzerland is not renowned for producing seafaring folk (although in my experience tediousness is a fairly typical trait amongst them).

I'm not sure where she is from, but I'm tired of her shit.
You did remind me that Genaro Oliveri, the international judge on Jeux Sans Frontirere all those years ago was in fact in the Swiss Navy, which consists of 1 ship on Lake Lucerne. This fact amused Stewart Hall as much as me, but it seems of little consequence now.

I can make up for it later with a sandwich, but I cant even have a sip of champagne this morning. *sigh*

Halfway through my weight loss now, and cant help wondering about the diet plan I devised for Muhattma Ghandi to lose his beer belly. I didnt mean for him to go quite that extreme........shows how bored I get in here with just a settee and a room full of scented steam. *sigh*

I was looking at the pictures of settees and thought I liked the first one pretty well...
The next to last one too except you would need some big fluffy pillows for the arms because it would hurt your head to lean on them. I like to lie on my settee.
The third to last one is... well. What can one say.

Sorry not to have written sooner, but the boredom of nude chess with Lisa Guerrero has left me drained as I sit here on the settee. She really must pay more attention when she is confronted with a Kozamovic knight to queen's pawn pincer movement when she leaves her bishop so vulnerable behind a king's Indian lead. And she must resist pointing over my head at something and saying "Oh look, is that Al Sharpton?" and then stealing any number of my chess pieces.

You may want to try some fabric cleaner to spot clean the worst of it. Maybe a little concentrated "Oxyclean" on a damp cloth. Allow to dry thoroughly before vaccuming any residues. Test a small inconspicuous area of the settee first, for colour fastness.

Or get her to lick it off.

I was sitting on my settee and briefly wondered why dinz and red princess had given me tips for the removal of "stains" from velour fabric, when in fact the main problem is that of long, blonde hairs. I then went to look for a roll of sellotape.

dinzdale
12-15-2003, 08:13 PM
I suddenly realized to my horror that Perky probably didnt think about the mud on her shoes and would only pick up the blond hairs from the scrubber resting on his furniture. I must remember to follow up before he uses sellotape or a lint brush without considering the damage he may do to an expensive settee's knap. Then I realised that through his knowledge of sofas, couches, chaise lounges and other seating fabrics he would act accordingly.

then it occured to me that the whole topic of settees, due to their intrinsic interesting nature, seem totally inapropriate for the boring thread as well.

Suggested topics.
1. pocket lint
2. navel lint.
3. Dinzdale's sex life
4. inchoherent babbling
5. lint of any kind...except setee lint of course.
6. .....

this list had become far to interesting for this thread...I have compelled myself to stop.

As I examined the knap of the far-end of my settee I noticed a small mud stain and decided to do nothing about it in the meantime, content in the knowledge that thanks to dinz and others I could tackle it with ease at a later date due to having been given some useful tips as to the appropriate method of removal. Another boring day here at the chateau. Farking Nolans have demolished the breakfast buffet (again) and are now sunning themselves on the terrace, quaffing my champagne and talking shit.
I cant seem to make any headway on my next expedition, as of yet no word from my old friend Boutros Boutros Ghalli on the permits to travel across the East Pole. I will call Mrs Ghalli later and see if she cant persuade him to get his arse in gear.
The settee is looking a little shabby from last night's naked pontoon, so I may have Jeeves move the Chesterfield up from the billiard room.
Lunch with the Bank of England, polo this afternoon with Prince Charles against the Argies, dinner with Nelson Mandela and Nikki Foxxx. I must get a nap sometime, or I'll start looking my age.

Dinz, Dinz, Dinz! You simply must lighten your social calendar Sir! Think of your health - carousing about night after night, woman after woman exhausting your energy reserves is bound to catch up with you. I've rung up Charlie and cancelled your Polo date this afternoon so that you can have a nice rest prior to dinner with Nelson (Charlie was actually relieved as he said he wasn't looking forward to another ass-kicking from you anyhow!).

Please be strong and just demand that those skanky Nolans leave Dinz! They are such a bad influence on you and your taste in music. Besides they're spreading rumours about the size of your settee! Be strong - do what you must.

Woke up to the phone ringing, and Spielberg wants to nominate my arse for an Oscar. Apparently Siskel and Ebert want to give it "two thumbs up", which I'm not too sure about.

I got home about an hour or so ago. I told myself aloud while trying to unlock my door that I was going straight to bed. I lied to myself. My boyfriend came over, we talked, we kissed, we said goodnight. He is sleeping in my bed right now and I am still awake typing meaningless conversation on this thread. I am very bored and about to go to sleep.

That's like people who drink beer only because they like to pee.
