So another tedious year begins.
Finally got to bed after the festivities, more bloody champagne and caviar in Rio with the greedy bastard Nolans. There is only so many times that their rendition of "I'm in the mood for dancing" topless to the strains of Samba music one can take. I have half a mind to just up anchor and let this damn 200 ft yacht sink itself of the coast of Tierra del Fuego. If it wasnt for the upcoming knighthood I would easily take the next few months off to recover my senses.
Leftover braised calfs liver for lunch, and the forcast of wind forces 8 to 10 gusting from the NNE are not going to make our passage to Tahiti any easier. Still, the Govenor General is expecting my prescence to open the new Government Office of Naked Limbo Dancing, and I hate to let down old friends.
Pass the Dom Perignon, I need a little fizz.......

There was an empty plate sitting on a surface in one of the rooms of my house. I picked up the plate and carried it into the kitchen. I then deposited the plate upon one of the kitchen work surfaces. I later reflected that all plates reside in the ego, and that the missing contents of used plates belong permanently to the unconscious mind, while work surfaces are unconscious screening-mechanisms which seek to limit the blind pleasure-seeking drives of plates by the imposition of restrictive rules. The plate had exerted a determining force upon my conscious mind, and gave rise to my dysfunctional behaviour. fvck, i miss malina.

i have decided to put on 50 pounds, grow a beard with my hair long, pierce my nose with a knitting needle and wear a black leather jacket. that will make up for the fact that I only have a settee. i will be the the enforcer around these parts and be called “dr.savage”. under no circumstances will I drop the "dr." from my name. since I have the "dr." name, the girls will not call me knob any more but will give me THAT look.

I wondered if this was a cry for help, but then decided Perky must be seeking attention, or missing a friend quite a lot. If only we knew who his missing friend was we could help, but that would require at least one of us getting up of the settee and finding out. And it's not going to be me. I'm comfy. And Emmerdale is coming on in a few.

I agree...you can find far more interesting things in ditchwater (dead rats, lost jewelery, bicycle parts, etc. )than you can in dishwater (old food, dishes, utinsels, soap).

Even though I meant to only support the use of ditch instead of dish water...I of course should have said that dish water is duller, or more boring, than ditch water.

and then to cite a list of "non-boring" things that can be found in ditch water...omg

I'm about to put on my socks.

Are you a left then right or a right then left kind of guy?

I usually do right then left myself. Not that I have anything against left then right you know. I say live and let live, especially in the sock department. Each to their own, marching to the beat of a different drum and at all. Different strokes for different folks. Now that was a show. Mr Drummond was my favourite character. But I don't know how he operated below the ankle if you catch my drift.

Of course, when it comes to socks, I always try to get a bit of pattern. Makes matching a little more efficient I find. But on these pattern socks these days, and I'm sure it wasn't much different in your granddad's time, the pattern is only one side of the sock, which raises a very important issue, to wit, pattern in or pattern out! The issue is confounded of course, when one adopts a rotation approach to minimise wear on the big toe area.

What?

zero
08-02-2006, 02:15 PM
^i'm pretty sure professor dinzdale was just feigning interest in the game of "kick the ball" but anyway it goes like this: the first player carefully places the ball on the ground and then kicks it (hence the name "kick the ball") in any direction as hard as he or she can. he or she must then immediately retrieve it in order that the next player can do the same. the winner is the last person to declare: "bollocks to this, i cannae be arsed", and slope off home. players get extra points for "kicking like a girl" and missing completely.

if nobody turns up i'll just have a game of "kick the ball - solitaire version"

My avatar is too festive for this thread. And by too festive, I mean it doesn't have enough colors in the monotone family - I did not mean to bring festivities to mind at all by using the word "festive." All I'm saying is that it needs to be less festive, which is the opposite of "festive." Or rather "more festive" is the opposite of "less festive," strictly speaking. That is, if I were to post here exclusively from now on. I'd have to do something about it.
The naked thigh on it might be too provocative as well (see note above about intentionally using words that are not boring).
I wonder if anyone knows what else it says on the avatar.
That's right. It says something about if you're happy, clap your hands. I'd quote it exactly, but there is no way I'm breaking the rules further here. It's from an album cover of a band I've never heard, which is lame of me, I know. Suffice it to say that what it actually says is fairly inappropriate for here, and, strictly speaking, the opposite of "if you're depressed, stick your head in the oven, but make sure it's a gas oven or you'll only get second and third degree burns on your face and then you'll be even more depressed." Actually, that's wrong too. The opposite of "clap your hands" is "don't clap your hands."
The avatar is orange, and orange is one of my favorite colors, but I'm getting bored with it in general, which is why I bring it up here. I wish it were the same thing only more of a peachy-orange color. Or coral. Coral would be less visually under-stimulating. And what are those bits and pieces of things floating around. Body parts? Swirly things? Too small to see, really.
I don't change my avatar too often. Other things I change all the time, of course, and I hope everyone does in case they end up in an ambulance from putting their head in an oven or something and don't want to be embarrassed in front of a couple of strange paramedics, or a few nurses you'll never see again in the burn unit. And a doctor or two, depending on the severity of your burns. Although why they would want you to take off your pants if only your face is burned is something I - this is getting out of hand. Breathe deeply and slowly. Your mother is not reminding you to change your underwear daily anymore. Not that you wouldn't - you are entirely normal and boring that way - you just don't have to sound like her. So go back to your room and close the door, and do whatever you like with your underwear, we don't want to be bothered with it here, so put them on or put them away, we really don't care.
The passion flower vine outside my back door is in full burst of color. I can't help that it's called "passion flower." Its not my fault. I guess I could have left out the name of the flower and just lied and said that it was blooming wanly out there.
I could go google "passion flower" and put it in my avatar, but I won't.
It's actually a very strange-looking flower. It looks like it's from outer space. But it's really not, of course, and therefore boring. Actual flowers from outer space would be really something, but life is fairly humdrum about letting us see things like that every day. Or ever. I saw a meteor once. Big chunk of boring, ordinary-looking rock. So it just goes to show you that just because it's from outer space does not mean that it's necessarily going to look particularly exotic in anyway, and is therefore extremely disappointing and boring.
My corn dog tasted like it was from outer space, or at least it tasted like it was in dehydrated form like the kind of corn dogs astronauts eat from a tube in outer space. That would be a nice plain avatar. An overcooked falling apart corndog with mustard on it. From a tube. And a picture of a smiling astronaut sucking it from his tube and blowing kisses to his wife and kids via satellite and listening, slightly bored from the time delay, to his wife telling him how bored she is without him and wants him to cut his mission short and come home and be with her instead of discovering something that will help all of mankind. I mean, really, it's at least seven or ten minutes between exchanges and he can't pick his nose in between waiting to respond because he knows that in seven to ten minutes, she will see him do it, and possibly several NASA web cams as well, not to mention you tube,so he has to be on his best behavior and make a good impression because he's in space and his wife is home and missing him and bored and that is just not a good situation for a typical marriage. But those astronaut wives are always so by-the-book anyway, and would never dream of cheating on their exotic husbands. For one thing, they probably come from military too - their fathers most likely. They're hopelessly hooked in love because they're married to someone who goes up into outer space of all things, and they can brag to the ordinary people that they have conjugal relations with men who traipse around in zero gravity blah blah blah blah - but what they really do is just hang out with other astronaut's wives and drink coffee and eat coffee cake and smoke because deep down they all know that it's actually a real bummer to be alone all the time, and the heavy black meteor just sits there and doesn't sparkle or anything after all even if it is from outer space.
