In a very lazy mood and no ambition at all. Haven't been able to do anything right since I got out of bed, either.

I think I'll go try out for the Indians bullpen. ;)

Spart - so this is what I can look forward to when my son becomes a teenager? Oh boy. He showed me his first SINGLE armpit hair yesterday. I screamed in terror.

Good morning Weiss, daverbee, chuckie, lovely Avalon, Rune, and Aphrodite! Although it's probably the afternoon by now for some of you. Hopefully ya'll have woke up by now.

Dinz - your sparkling personality is refreshing to wake up to, as usual...

Well, the mystery is compounded by the fact that his sister, though full of mischief and merriment, is responsible, well-behaved and caring. In short, everything I was not at her age.

*ahem* -- err, I think i just found part of the problem with my son.... LOL!

But each person, as I can see by looking at my two diametrically opposite kids, is very much an individual. I really do believe a lot of our mindset, response to the world around us and personality is, if not inborn, with us from a very young age. Son was apt to sit in a crappy diaper and squall blue hell, whereas daughter was ambitious enough to, at the ripe old age of 18 months, try to change it herself (with disastrously messy results, but it's the thought that counts. LOL). Some of us are born content to sit in crap, some will scream angrily as if crapped on until someone does something, and some will do everything they can to change it themselves whether they are able or not. It's the Tao of babies. LOL

Hope you are all well this fine Tuesday.

Happy for 'Dite's new client.

Got work to do today, and I'm grateful for that.

Blew off some steam yesterday; I don't often lose my temper but when I do it's worth the ticket price; had a little come-to-Jesus meeting with Mr. Son. It's fun watching somebody a foot taller and a hundred pounds heavier than I tremble in fear! Especially when they've been a burr in my nethers for many moons.

A little clearing of the air is good for the soul.

Hope everyone has a fine day!

Not TOO level headed (see above entry! LOL!)

What you've probably got is just a very, very smart kid (takes after Mom!;) ). I'll bet you're doing just fine -- they usually know their limits at that age, and it's their job to push 'em; and when, in the teen years, the "smart" part gravitates to his ass, just try to remember (as I do, every day, while gritting my teeth) that it's only a temporary dislocation and by the time they have kids of their own, they will think we're wise again.

Parenthood is not for sissies. :D

Red Tagged means disconnected and non useable until all repairs are complete and it has been reinspected. It means condemned. Basically new furnace time.

There was a leak in the valve which may be why it was costing so much, and why our tummies have been kind of wonky and our heads a bit achey. He lit the valve so I could see the pretty blue flame that blow torched out from around the plastic switch.

Oh well. I must say it IS better to be too cold and damp, then to blow up. He explained what could have happened...I guess we are broke but lucky. Our pets...yeah we are all lucky.

He got fired a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, he isn't the only one who doesn't know their way around a woodshop.
I found one of our other guys, one who should have known better, about to cut a dado in a piece of 1x4 using only the chippers. He would have most likely ended up cutting his hand off or worse. I rescued him in time, though. One of these days, somebody is gonna do something stupid down here and I won't be around to stop it. That fact kinda scares me!

All the males in my family are either missing a finger or two or three or four, or at least the tip. We had a fencing buisness and the punch presses got um everytime. I inheritied the clumsy finger mashing trait but so far I have only sliced a few that were sewn back shut. :(

But, on a good note HAPPY FRIDAY! I think I might have a "date" this weekend. I've never really dated and I'm not much of a conversationalist so God only knows how this will turn out. Oh well. It's better than sitting at home I guess. I'm not even looking for someone, but my Mom is telling me "just go out, have fun". Whatever.

There's only one serious rule that I would suggest -- bringing up or discussing any previous disastrous relationships is a no-no. Even if he asks, just tell him, "Oh, it didn't work out, but we're still on friendly terms," and change the subject. Even if that's a blatant exaggeration of the goodwill and your ex is a buttknob who ought to be tarred and feathered, bad-rapping the former companion is a bad move.

Be sure not to drink too much to ease the first-date jitters -- you could end up regretting it. Better to switch to mineral water after the first drink if you feel it. You want to have a good time but be comfortably in charge of yourself, not doing and saying stuff you're going to second-guess later.

Dress comfortably in something you've worn before that makes you feel pretty. First dates are no time to try out the new outfit that may or may not "work" once you're ready to go out the door. Go easy on the scent and the makeup, and just be you.

Especially that last part. Just be you -- if he doesn't adore you, he's nuts! ;)

Relax and have fun!

LMAO! Been there, done that.

Alternatively, strike up a relationship with some other guy at the party/bar/restaurant and have him drive you home! Gets the message across AND gets you home, plus you can get shitfaced drunk and don't have to drive!

Just ask us -- we'll coach you through it! Then, when you've listened to us and taken all our sage advice, you'll have more time to spend here on the monkey board! :D

Okay so...

1. No messy food.
2. No bitching about the arsehole ex.
3. Easy on the lushieness :p - One will be enough
4. Dress comfy.
5. Take my own car (see #3 again)
6. Table dance. (wear panties)
7. Be myself.

Sounds good! Thanks. And if #7 doesn't scare him off, I might be okay.

It's been a good morning so far in spite of the fact that somebody stopped up a sink in our OT/PT dept. and left it running all weekend. Ruined several dozens of ceiling tiles on our second and first floor not to mention the cabinet where the sink was. We're having people come in to check the x-ray machines that were on the second floor, directly underneath the sink.
Grrrrrrrrrr! No jury in the world would convict any of us!

Ohforgoshsakes, put em out under a tree like I do with all mine. If they don't get rained on all summer every day like they do here, turn the hose on em 3x a week, spray some fertilizer every so often.
They can't stay in the bathroom. they need light!

Oh, btw, Good Morning!

I hate having to get up early to "interface" with our london team... damn EMEA work rules... they leave for the pub at 5pm on the dot.

sounds like it's time for some political action... maybe Kerry needs a donation...

Good Morning.

I have coffee and it's going to rain. I need oil for the lawn mower before it does.

Shoot I wish I could sharpen the blade too.
I've never done that before.

Good Morning!
I hate mowing lawns. I've done everything I could to destroy my lawnmower and it's still alive. It's like having Dracula living in your tool shed disguised as yard tools.
Oh, well, it keeps the city from fining me, I guess.
Busy day today, there's only two of us here in the maintenance dept.! Once again, it'll either be hectic or slow...

mmorning daver. I cut the lawn yesterday. It was the only thing i could make myself do while being hunguver. And it helped. So if i cut the grass every day I can drink every day, right?

I was thinking more along the lines of a bit of C4 underneath it. That should make a nice crater in my front yard and I could plant an orange tree.

Good morning. Thanks daver for the laugh - best of luck with the soon to be planted orange tree :)

I'm tired. I even woke up on my own after only the 5th time my alarm went off (hey, it's an improvement). Had coffee, 2 donuts, milk and am now ready for an early nap.

Have a good one!

Soooo...lemme see if I've got this straight...your day consists of ignoring your alarm clock, eating breakfast, and then a nap?
Where do I sign up for a job like that?
