Good Morning everyone!

I went for a drive past this house I love yesterday. I drive by it and dream it is mine. I have taken pictures of it from the road for a year or so. It is a huge old brick farmhouse and it sits empty.

Well, yesterday I had a friends car (a fluke) and went for a photo cruise. I was driving by and saw a silhouette in the doorway and a light on. I waited for them to come up the long driveway and asked to take photos on the property. He said he'd ask the owner. He was showing it to possible renters!

I immediately explained my passion for the house. I might get it!

Wish me luck!

Bon Matin Monkeys!

Thanks for all the nice feedback. I am really hoping I get that house.
I will post pictures of it, but only after I hear that I get it, and that won't happen until I speak with the owners or the real estate guy on monday.

It is amazing. Acres of fields and woods. A huge barn and silo. Two outbuildings where I could have a studio or shop. I could have gardens and grow veggies and herbs. I would have room for monkeys to come and visit.;)

Morning!!!!!! Have to register his highness for schooooool.

He said he didn't want to go, cause the teenagers would cause him to be dead meat, and they'd pull his pants down on the bus. I don't know how this would happen, as he's going to elementary school, and I don't think they allow hitchhikers. I guess this is one of those things, he's going to have to find out for himself...kicking and screaming.

MLKY keeps noxx'in. Fvcker. oh wait, this is the good morning thread!

Sorry.

Good morning, I've been busy annihilating all his posts, and I'm having a very good time being very mean this morning.

Bink's decided he doesnt like school, but that cool school bus sucks him in so far, every time. He likes the bus.

He's suffering from Montessori-withdrawal, which, the public school teachers call "train wreck," which they said he'd be if he went to a montessori school. (I think he's bright enough to adapt)

This early morning stuff is good, gets me up and havin coffee early enough so that I can sit here without a guilty conscience about spendin so much time here, and the best part, nobody lookin at me funny for doin it.

Aphrodite
08-18-2004, 11:46 AM
Good Morning Monkey crew.

I'm glad that Bink is an individual. We need more children who are bright, happy, and independent. He's adorable in all of his pictures. Let the individual blossom instead of creating another automaton that rebels to beat the system. I think it is wonderful that he asks questions, expresses his opinions, and has a family who encourages him (and an extended world wide family who enjoy his antics vicariously).

ok stepping off my Soapbox

Audreyvgs
08-18-2004, 12:26 PM
Montessori is GREAT! Taught him that kindness and grace are important first. Then, to my utter amusement, it taught him to wash dishes, and put them away. His room is usually neat, mine's not.

It's just such a diffrence between Montessori and public school, that sometimes they have a hard time adapting to the discipline that says, you have exactly 15 minutes to absorb this, whereas, if you were in Montessori, they'd give you all day to contemplate something in a very concrete way.

They work in concrete ideas, like sometimes, i'd go in the montessori room, discover things, and think, gawd! I never knew what that meant! there were these cubes, beads on all sides, and it was the number of beads, squared. In school I'd been taught the formula, for some reason the word squared never meant anything to me! I went WOW!

another reason for the trainwreck is cause all the kids at the montessori were so nice. Hugs all the time, no crap. PS is more kids, less watchin. (and they mainstream kids with problems and non-english speakers in the classes) He's gotta grow a spine sometime, he needed the real world, cause someday he's goanna have to function in it.

AND I'm goanna get to keep the $800 a month.

i went to a montessory school when i first came to the states. i couldn't speak any english and i remember being given the role of the mouse - "not a creature was stirring not even a mouse" - in the school pageant. the reindeers were the coolest parts but they required some basic language skills. i did stir in the end though - sort of a snore, unable to resist a bit of acting when the spotlight rested on me in the costume my mom had whipped up from old courderoys. the image of the reindeer all running together around the pillars of the church basement came back to me in grade school as i sat unable to trade my soggy peanut butter, mayonnaise and tomatoe sandwhich and carrot wedges and organic yogourt with any of the stylish boys at the next table in the cafeteria.

I knew a lady in San Antonio who sent her daughter to a Montessori School. They had a party at the end of the school year and somehow her daughter got into the Sangria and got snockered.

Say it ain't so, Ze:

I just had this horrible thought, that in fact YOU invented this annoying shadow-puppet malarkey identity, because you had gotten bored with what you had created here and were trying to destroy it -- or as some strange, twisted experiment in online bulletin board dynamics.

Can it be??

Man, that would be a disappointment. :(

It's called the Malarkey virus. It's a new computer worm that has infected the board and is eating away at its usability at an alarming rate.

Sort of hard to describe, but if you are so inclined, check out the profile, note the number of posts (and posts per day) and then just read through practically ANY thread of the past two days, you'll see a startling similarity between the threads on these boards and trying to carry on a conversation while a little lap dog is incessantly yap yap yapping. In both cases, normal conversation is impossible.

(Sorry, Ze, but I'm still slightly suspicious that it's you. It's almost wacky enough to be a form of online performance piece.)
