Before their Open House to the public, hopefully, all of their "clients" will already have been relocated to more private grounds.

A Texas Story
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher
whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor
struck up a conversation with the old man.
Eventually the topic got around to Sarah Palin and her bid to be
a heartbeat away from being President .
The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle.'
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post
turtle was.
The old rancher said,
'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a
fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle.'
The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he
continued to explain.
'You know she didn't get up there by herself, she doesn't belong
up there, she doesn't know what to do while she is up there, and
you just wonder ----- what kind of dumb ass put her up there to
begin with!

Bleah bleah bleah!
I've got an exam with solubility on it in a bit...*gak*.
With calculating about bits of stuff in <s>jars</s> beakers and pouring water in on it and strange chemicals in and out in other beakers then figuring out how many moles can fit in? That's what I just had. I know, bleh.

^Yes, and rate laws, and inexplicably, nuclear chemistry, wherein when you add an electron with negative mass to a proton with positive mass, the lot of it gets heavier.
Sort of.
I'm given to understand that it has to do with things no one has got figured out yet as it has no basis in reality once you get that small.
So you pretend to believe that the statistics of particle physics has something to do with your future career as a dietician or physical therapist or personal trainer.
And then your brain explodes.
eta I enjoyed your mole joke.
Why did the mole cross the road?
Because Avagadro had him on a tight leash.

"At cocktail parties, where one might quite reasonably simply wish to stand, or sit, and not be pestered by other guests seeking to make small talk, the use of a discreet lapel badge was sometimes to be recommended. This badge might state one’s religious position in unequivocal terms, and invite discussion on it. Thus a small badge saying, "Please talk to me about Salvation" usually had the effect of ensuring a peaceful time at any party, leaving one untroubled by other guests coming up to engage one in unwanted conversation. Similarly a badge saying, "No longer infectious" could usually be calculated to ensure physical space, another commodity in short supply at the more popular cocktail parties."

.
A big city lawyer went duck hunting rural Tennessee. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a fence.
As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him what he was doing.
The litigator responded, 'I shot a duck and it fell in this field, and now I'm going to retrieve it.'
The old farmer replied, 'This is my property, and you are not coming over here.'
The indignant lawyer said, 'I am one of the best trial attorneys in the United States and, if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything you own.'
The old farmer smiled and said, 'Apparently, you don't know how we settle disputes in Tennessee. We settle small disagreements with the 'Three Kick Rule.''
The lawyer asked, 'What is the 'Three Kick Rule'?'
The Farmer replied, 'Well, because the dispute occurs on my land, I get to go first. I kick you three times and then you kick me three times and so on back and forth until someone gives up.'
The attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the local custom.
The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to the attorney.
His first, second and third strategically planted kicks landed the lawyer into a cow pie.
The lawyer summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet.
Wiping his face with the arm of his jacket, he said, 'Okay, you old fart. Now it's my turn.'
(I love this part)
The old farmer smiled and said , 'Nah, I give up. You can have the duck.

Subject: Madame.
The madam opened the brothel door to see an elderly Jewish man. His clothes were all disheveled and he looked needy. "Can I help you?" the madam asked.
"I want Natalie," the old man replied. "Sir, Natalie is one of our most expensive ladies, perhaps someone else..." "No, I must see Natalie."
Just then Natalie appeared and announced to the old man that she charges $1,000 per visit. The man never blinked and reached into his pocket and handed her ten $100 bills. The two went up to a room for an hour whereupon the man calmly left.
The next night he appeared again demanding Natalie. Natalie explained that no one had ever come back two nights in a row and that there were no discounts... it was still $1,000. Again the old man took out the money, the two went up to the room and he calmly left an hour later.
When he showed up the third consecutive night, no one could believe it. Again he handed Natalie the money and up to the room they went. At the end of the hour Natalie questioned the old man: "No one has ever used my services three nights in a row... where are you from?"
The old man replied, "I am from Minsk."
"Really?" replied Natalie, "I have a sister who lives there."
"Yes; I know," said the old man. "She gave me $3,000 to give to you."

G-d Will Provide
A jewish girl brings her fiance home to meet her parents. After dinner, her mother tells her father to find out about the young man. He invites the fiance to his study for a drink.
"So? What are your plans?" the father asks the fiance.
"I am a Torah scholar," he replies.
"A Torah scholar," the father says. "Admirable, but what will you do to provide a nice house for my daughter to live in, as she's accustomed to?"
"I will study," the young man replies, "and God will provide for us."
"And how will you buy her a beautiful engagement ring, such as she deserves?" asks the father.
"I will concentrate on my studies," the young man replies, "God will provide for us."
"And children?" asks the father. "How will you support children?"
"Don't worry, sir, God will provide," replies the fiance.
The conversation proceeds like this, and each time the father questions, the fiance insists that God will provide.
Later, the mother asks, "How did it go?"
The father answers, "He has no job, no money, and no plans, but the worse news is he thinks I'm God."

when i was about seventeen i sometimes carried around a copy of james joyce's ulysses in my schoolbag and would casually pull it out and pretend to be reading it in my LUNCHTIME, on the bus home, etc. but i confess here and now that i never got past page 17 and it was too heavy to carry. anyway, hyafox's photo of marilyn and mo's subsequent comment got me curious about what that last page might be, so i checked and here's what i found. it's pretty beautiful and poignant.

The story comes from an English teacher in Paris who had used a clip from the Wallace and Gromit film, The Wrong Trousers, with his class. He’d prepared the room so that only one student could see the television and had to describe what was happening to the other students:
It was all going really smoothly until we got to the part where Wallace is lying in bed, Gromit pulls a lever, the bed rises up, Wallace slides off the bed through a hole in the floor and into his mechanical trousers.
There’s a lot of describing to do here and my student had a really good stab at it, but said, “The dog pulls the man’s knob and he comes in his trousers”.

"I guess I am a whore and an asshole. Nice to know. I always knew I was an asshole, but a whore? I can't buy into that. I have never been a whore. And it disturbs me that I am even sharing this. Guess I just need an outlet. I can't call and bitch to my family and friends that, this guy, that I have been with for over five years, likes to accuse me of sleeping with his friend, who, I don't even know. He is no longer angry with me for being a whore and an asshole. It has been like the screaming match has never happened. Anyhoo, can't live like this anymore. Was kind of hoping, he would still be pissed and move out today. I just have to grow a pair."

Only question that drifts through my mind at the moment is why Klynne might have posted that in this particular thread. My theory is that she was doing her best to find humor in a bad situation.
And being somewhat familiar with Mo's posts by now, I'm pretty sure that Mo didn't intend to be mean - probably just wanted to respond to Klynne and not leave it hanging out there. Her gentle teasing did not go over in the spirit that it was meant (?) and probably was as equally appropriate as Klynne posting it in this particular thread in the first place. Sorry you're going through that, Klynne. Sounds like he revealed his true colors.
As someone who posts and posts and posts, sometimes with no direct response from anyone for weeks except Mo (leading me to the conclusion that I'm most likely on a lot of "ignore" lists, and therefore it doesn't really matter what I post anywhere anyway), I've come to appreciate this woman who makes me feel a little less lonely in the cyber world (cue violins). I agree with Ysa Pur that her posts don't always make sense. I think Mo knows that and embraces it as part of her mojo.
So maybe we can calm our racing hearts and put the hatchets down, and chalk it all up to - yes, I'm going to say it - that time of the month. :)
She said, to no one in particular.
