"Go withs" are always a great idea. 'Cause if they get the hat, and like it, well, they just gotta have the bag to go with it! And if they like the hat and bag, of course they need the cell phone pouch with the nice long skinny strap so they can wear it anywhere! :)
Those bags are beautiful, BTW!

ooOOOOo yeah, make a cell phone pouch on it so that you can get your fingers down it to get the phone before it clicks off, unlike mine!

Mr. Sparticle was a horticlturist of some stature during his days at Kent State, specializing in just such indoor ornamentals. In fact, he once flew to Hawaii in search of some rather rare seeds. :D ;)

I hate grocery shopping, really just any shopping in general, so I figured I should get EVERYTHING now that I might ever need, you know, all the basics. So, I start at one end and made my way down, picking up anything that I might need. Starting from scratch is NOT easy. Halfway thru the store the cart is OVERFILLED, like embaressingly overfilled, and I haden't even made it to the cheese section. Luckily, I had room underneath the cart for a few 6 packs and cheese, the important stuff. I hate shopping. All I didn't get was bread, corn tortillas, and meat. Whoops. I guess I have to go back. Bleh.
I want a personal shopper.

I won a small vidio camera in a raffle at the telescope conference I went to a month ago. Found the package on my door step 2 weeks ago and it really made my day. It might even prove usefull in our BBB school shows if we ever get our old donated laptop up and running...it fits into the eyepiece holder of the scope and connects to a lap top. We can use it to look at the moon or planets and let everyone see it at once instead of having a line at the scope waiting for their chance to see stuff.

More on the vicarious bragging thread. My friend's husband's movie is now with Newline Cinema (that's the Lord of the Rings people). It's set in a futuristic ship graveyard, only the ships are actually spaceships. And the protagonist is a good man whom bad men want to do bad things. And so on. I know who the leads probably will be but I'm not allowed to say.
However, Avalon, it is not Hugh Jackman.

At work yesterday I got my pay slip, the salary indicated on it was a LOT more than it should be..
I got my annual increase which was 2.5% on last months, and I was confused as to why it had gone up so much without my knowledge. It'd also been backdated to July.
I decided to be honest and went to see the finance guy today thinking it was just a mistake, he said it was correct and that I should have received a letter!! He took me to personnel to see where that letter was.. they were very impressed by my honesty. I thanked them and when I turned around to walk out of the office who was stood there but the multi-millionaire owner of the company. I hope he heard us! (Brownie points for Egg!)

Groucho actually used that line when he was accepted into the Beverly Hills Country Club, incidentally.
The same club where this took place:
Harpo and George Burns were great friends and golfing buddies. One day, when they were playing at the Beverly Hills CC, it was so hot they took their shirts off and finished the round in their t-shirts.
When they got back to the clubhouse, the Club President met them there and told them it was against club rules to play without shirts on and that they were both suspended for three months.
After the three months were up, they played another round of golf. It was hot again but they didn't want to be suspended, so they took their pants off. The Club President was furious when he found out but even more furious when he learned he couldn't suspend them again as there was no rule that said you couldn't play without your pants.:D :D :D

I'm making this right now.
For a birthday cake for a coffee loving friend.
Except, substitute Brandy for every instance of Rum below. I don't have rum, and sample tastes of batter and stuff is MMMmmmm...so far.
Should I evern be posting this till it is done???
---ya...i'll be baking a chicken later and no time to brag then.
Mocha Rum (Brandy) Torte
Ingredients
Cake
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. rum
1 tbs. butter
1/2 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 small jar raspberry jam
1/2 pt. whipping cream, whipped and sweetened
Coffee Syrup
1/2 cup strong coffee
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbs. Rum
Cream Filling
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 cup milk
1 egg yolk, slightly beaten
For Cake:
Preheat oven to 350. In large mixing bowl, beat eggs with salt, sugar and rum until very thick and fluffy. In a saucepan, heat butter with milk until scalded and beat into egg mixture. Add flour and baking powder, mixing well. In a greased and floured 9" springform pan, pour batter and bake for 30 minutes. While cake is cooling, prepare coffee syrup and cream filling.
For Coffee Syrup:
In a sauce pan, boil coffee with sugar for 5 minutes and add rum.
For Cream filling:
In a sauce pan, combine sugar, flour and milk and whisk until smooth. Cook, stirring until thickened. In a separate bowl, add a little of hot mixture to beaten egg yolk and stir. Add egg mixture to hot milk mixture in saucepan and stir until thick. Chill until ready to use.
To assemble Mocha Rum Torte:
When cake is cool, slice in half to make 2 layers. Spoon half of coffee syrup over cake Layer. Top with cream filling. Place second cake layer on top of filling. Spoon remaining coffee syrup over top. Spread raspberry jam on top. Cover top and side of cake with sweetened whipped cream.

:( Sorry Melissa...
Here have a napkin and clean up a bit while I mention how light and moist the cake was. It was one of those "ya not too much sugar" kind of deserts so we all had thirds. The cream filling was not too sweat and almost custardy and didn't compete with the whipped topping (to which I added a tsp. of brandy). The rasberry jam went amazingly well with the esspresso syrup which was dribbled in a marbled fashion all over the 2 layers of spongy cake. At first I was worried that the espresso syrup was to liquidy, but hesitated to cook it longer as I didn't want to burn the espresso, but it worked fine and there was plenty of unsoaked cake as well after the dribbling process.
:(
Oh, sorry. Here have a couple towels.
