Glad to oblige... I couldn't count when I went to the post office so I got too few george washingtons, and didn't want to bother with going back.

Aphro gets the prize for most wasted postage.. at the end I only had an 80¢ stamp... she got an extra 30¢ worth from me.

1) Barnes & Noble, borders usually have some limited selection, sometimes on their bargain areas, sometimes they're little postcard books.

2) It doesn't necessarily have to be a postcard.. some other monkeys are sending... other things... a trend I may follow

I've got another set of cards but I think I'm going to save them for another week. Not sure how many batches I'll be able to get doen with a newborn around. Am I the only one to have caught this?

I just bought $24 worth of postcards @ Walgreens. I got the same poor kid who rung me up for all the stuff I bought to send to Xerocs & the boys. He had to scan them in one at a time.

Mr Monkey Mailman delivered to me today a view of Niagara Falls as seen from Aphrodite's bicycle, and a very frightening and realistic drawing of a snake dressed up in a tuba costume (or maybe it's a drawing of a tuba disguised as a snake), penned by an expectant father.

They even had international postcard stamps there! The lady at the counter said they get a lot of foreign tourists so it was easier on everyone to keep them in stock.

It isn't your imagination. Postcards aren't considered 1st class mail. They aren't handled the same way or given the same consideration. That is why the cards I sent in envelopes got there before the postcards. It really doesn't have anything to do with anthrax...at this point. It's allll about the money:p

You know, getting these postcards over the last few weeks has really lifted my spirits. I am going through some real shite in my personal life and it has buoyed my spirits to have my pals send cards.

Of course, you have also managed to make the schmos in my personal life who can't even be bothered to scribble on a postcard and drop it into a mailbox look even worse by comparison. :D

Really, though, it has truly cheered me up to hear from all of you who have written (and none of you who haven't; I am still ostensibly sane).

But thanks so much for brightening my days with your fun notes.

This is one of the reasons I quit drinking. If you think I'm saccharine to puking point now, you should have heard me after the first three beers at a party. "I LOVE you guyyyyyyyyys."

Usually someone would stuff me into the guest bedroom with all the coats, sort of like the "Dormouse in Alice in Wonderland". LOL

Well, if you need an antidote to all spart's sappy gushing, I for one find you all a terrible distraction and I hold each and every one of you responsible for my lack of productivity, my missed deadlines, and any loss of income related to my decreased ability to serve my clients. I rue the day I ever started posting here.

Red sent me a very nice note on a postcard with a picture of Houston commuter traffic (that looks seriously like the 405 in LA -- the only way to describe THAT is to say it takes six hours to drive from SF to LA, four to get to the city limits of Santa Monica and two more to drive the two miles on 405 to the *other* side of Santa Monica) and I SWEAR that in the photo you can see Dinz driving alone in the HOV commuter lane!!
