I brought crudites and a flea circus.

It's ever so quaint.

.. how about ...

mrs o'cairo i hardly think "how about" is the correct and proper manner in which to make an offer of a sandwich. i'll thank you not to use such uncouth guttertalk in future. and anyway, canapés are de rigueur in here.

:) what a glorious day!

Isn't it? Yes, as I was just saying to the State Attorney General, by way of begging piteously that they finally, after approximately 375 exceedingly polite but sobbing phone calls and faxes, enter my address into their system so that I can get my everloving child support before I go under like a gentleman caller who courteously flings himself into a pit of quicksand rather than have his beloved see him with his ascot untied, the breeze is quite refreshing today.

^bracing, in fact. the air must be fairly seething with idiom.

my deepest apologies, ezro, as I had not taken sufficient time to scent the wind and let my grammatic hindbrain spin up. here's a plate of madelines and a twist of lemon for your earl grey. care for a stroll along the promenade with me?

I found myself pressed to spend moments of some length passing the time with people who are real a...

aaaahhhh...

..achoo!

Good heavens, what a frightful sneeze! I do apologize.
As I was saying, with people who are not quite as well-mannered and sunny to whom folks such as we have become accustomed.

But did I let their fuddy-duddiness stick to me like the fine film one might acquire whilst rolling in elderly Milk Duds? Oh no! I had only to think of all of you...such glee, such utter lack of complaint or sour gest...and all was made whole again.

Do fetc...I mean, retrieve the pinochle cards, dear ones, and we'll have a right old time.
