sorry to interrupting the festivities with a mundane, logistical concern, but can anyone let me know if there's a trick to unlocking control of your avatar. i only have a choice of 'me' and 'goose', neither of which do anything. i thought there might be a minimum number of posts until you have normal account priveleges, but i'm past 100 now and still nothing. i've searched the other posts and have seen others with the same problem, but haven't found anything that helps. any advice would be appreciated.

Nah, don't be so modest. There's no y, w or ch in Hungarian any more. They were lost around the 12th century. And They, of course, was my addition, to make it more like Ysobel, or something.
You are the sole winner of this unintentional dictionary game.

You slept through it. Then, on the way back, you were singing, though quietly,
The cocktail is a pleasant drink
It’s mild and harmless I don’t think.
When you’ve had one, you call for two,
And then you don’t care what you do.
Last night I hoisted more than three
Of these arrangements into me;
My wealth increased, I swelled with pride;
I was pickled, primed, and ossified.
R-E-M-O-R-S-E
Those dry martinis did the work for me;
Last night at twelve I felt immense;
Today I feel like thirty cents.
At four I sought my whirling bed,
At eight I woke with such a head!
It is no time for mirth or laughter –
The cold, gray dawn of the morning after.
If ever I want to sign the pledge
It’s the morning after I’ve had an edge;
When I’ve been full of the oil of joy
And fancied I was a sporty boy.
This world was one kaleidoscope
Of purple bliss, transcendent hope.
But now I’m feeling mighty blue –
Three cheers for the WCTU.
R-E-M-O-R-S-E
The water wagon is the place for me;
I think that somewhere in the game
I wept and told my maiden name.
My eyes are bleared, my coppers hot;
I try to eat but I can not;
It is no time for mirth of laughter –
The cold, gray dawn of the morning after.

Zerö,
after I woke up from my cold¶cetamol-induced ~36h crash-out and after having satisfied my immediate needs (no details, 'cept the last one was a ciggie --> good sign ;)), I searched for some music and suddenly had Billy Idol's Cyberpunk in my hands, and was struck by the title of the first track: wasteland
Here it is
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-tcE6Nyb6VY&color1=0x3a3a3a&color2=0x999999&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-tcE6Nyb6VY&color1=0x3a3a3a&color2=0x999999&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

^Maybe I'll ask treekisser to do something with it... I've heard something about a certain kind of operation. ;)
But my Russian pretty much deteriorated next to nothing, I haven't uttered an actual Russian word since 1989 when it ceased to be compulsory at school. I still remember some essential words like dog or pancakes (might be useful in Siberia) and a lot of swearwords. One picks them up so quickly. Among all of you scientists I'd be the odd-one-out, a language teacher who knows nothing practical...
Dog and pancake - perfect, we can buy a dog for my dog-loving-friend (she's a teacher now too, after she deserted from the uni forces ;) and further she is semi-Hungarian :), she doesn't speak much Hungarian though, BUT she descends in a side-line from Attila - via King István I, aye and she's a wild one! :D) and we won't starve!
You wouldn't be odd, cos a) the boring, workaholic, 24/7 science-obsessed scientists gotta stay home (better said they wouldn't come anyways even if I'd feel like asking them), none of them will talk quantum stuff b) there's non-scientific B family (or almost B family) people involved, both my sisters are more the language / social interests chicas, and my sis' boyfriend is electrician, methinks, he doesn't talk so much whenever I see him - well he is then always surrounded by 2-4 B ladies, no we don't talk much :D, c) there's attachment coming along with the sci folk, who ain't all sci folk, p.ex. Vanya's wife (Vanya is my former officemate, now banker in Vienna, my big brother ersatz and best mate - I hope he can make it! Then the language issue would be no problem at all.) was initially trained in craftwork (she made dolls for doll theatres in Odessa, so cool :)) but works as office clerk since in Germany and will again in Austria - just now she has to learn the special Austrian office clerk thingies (whatever these are? except of writing official letters in this endearing - or enervating, depends - ultra-sugarcoated way ;)); maybe Vanya can also organise more people from his ex-pat Russian forum and d) I'll later PM some more Zemonkeys whether they'd be interested too. I'm the organising-loads-of-folks-to-join-us official and I have approximately the following orders (from Attila's descendant): "The more people the better!"
Write you more infos on what we figured out so far and how it will proceed etc in a PM.

I've never heard that expression, but it might be, because the original genadir is made from small, square-shaped pasta (kocka). But we call it grenadir and I love it too. Everything hot and spicy goes...

Of course, when you have three couples, there are multiple possibilities of forming groin vaults (ribbed or not) depending on your tastes and creativity, modesty and other factors.

^Mmh, so it aches. :(
Did she make an X-ray? I had it twice that the tooth looked alright from the outside, it even didn't hurt at first, but then I got severe migraine attacks (I usually don't have that), and a strange pulsating feeling in the jaw and via X-ray (the cold test was not 100% clear either, so the doc did it to make sure) it turned out that the root is fukked up and needs root canal treatment...
Anyway, hope yours is just irritated!!! And stops irritating you asap!

I loved that clip. My wife watches that show all the time.
Never got so advanced as to involve bananas, though. I'm allergic, actually, which could be bad.
Before that episode, I never realized that there was any significant meaning to the name of a certain rock band.
