it's an expression i sometimes use. it started when i was a small boy and was out one dark night beside a loch fishing for trout. i'd caught two was getting bored and started muttering jibberish to myself as small boys sometimes do. suddenly, the gamekeeper was standing behind me and asked me if i'd "had any luck?" i was embarassed about talking to myself and a wee bit startled and got all mixed up in trying to tell him i'd had two (fishes), and that i was talking to myself and i just came blurting out with "i was just having two to myself!" - he gave me a funny look and walked off into the night.
