me, too. into my basement from the heavy rain today. but we have a sump pump that's working very efficiently. a friend e-mailed me from Buffalo today. they got 2 and half feet of snow and haven't had electricity since last Thursday.

Too funny. I'm also pumping my basement...every 11-12 hours, and it is sunny and warm, hasn't rained in weeks, and that was just a sprinkle.

Living on a boat...gotta love it.


Discovered that a badly corroded rudder shaft packing nut had broken, after a lovely sailing trip to go see SF Fleet week airshows, etc. I'm MacGyver'ing it till I can get a real repair done on it. I installed and wired a backup bilge pump "just in case" and will probably be able to actualy repair it in a couple months...ugh.

Toilet bowl seal wax...mmmmm...melted and soaked into rope, clamps, and Mr. Stickies underwater glue. I'll wrap it tightly with many wraps of an innertube and clamp it for the month of Nov. when I'll be sailing to Baja (on a friend's boat)...that should reduce the pumps cycling to once every few days or better i hope.
