sorry trish - that happened to me when i was a kid. i feel like i only had to get one shot??? i'm not 100% sure.

trisherina
06-10-2006, 11:41 AM
Well, we're lucky to avoid the whole series too -- the worst of what had to be done was done last night. She's a tough little nut!

rmr
06-10-2006, 11:55 AM
what did they do and how bad was the bite??

trisherina
06-10-2006, 12:12 PM
Not bad enough to warrant rabies series; I guess you need more than punctures and a bit of bleeding -- I gather the damage has to be pretty serious and involve LOTS of exchange. So they scrubbed out and dressed the thing, pumped her up with antibiotics and sent her home with a scrip for some oral ones, bubbling over about how much fun she'd had hanging out in the waiting room with Dad. :p

rmr
06-10-2006, 12:46 PM
^^^ she's awesome

Avalon

Sorry to hear she was bitten; glad she is going to be okay.
As a child, my father was bitten by a rabid dog and had to undergo the entire series of shots; they were given in the abdomen at that time.
Found this link ... it is for kids.

Thanks for the link... I don't think she'll be trying to make friends with and rescue any stray dogs in the future (I must admit I have served only as a bad example in this regard).

I'm with you - I'd assume that the dog was rabid, no matter what.
Sorry she got bit :(

From the Mammoth Book of Tasteless Lists by Karl Shaw -
"1. 15 bowls of noodle soup, 100 pieces of sushi, 5 plates of wheat noodles, 5 plates of beef with rice and 5 plates of curry and rice in 2 hours (Japanese National Eating Championships). "

I've been a little on the overtly schmoopy side since watching Swingers on Thursday night and would gladly take just about any offers to make out that were handed to me...

I had my first actual conversation on the phone with Midshipman tonight, we'd made attempts before, I'd chalked up all the other hits and misses to a fancy game of phone tag.

I have a genuine crush. I think he knows it. I don't think he reciprocates which sucks, but I'm thinking about testing the waters anyway, just so I don't have any regrets for not trying. It's been a while since I've even considered doing that. The last couple guys I just tried flirting shamelessly with. Not this one. I'm thinking of going in for the kill.

I saw The Lake House tonight...I saw Winter Passing Wednesday night...I think that Keanu Reeves/Sandra Bullock and Will Farrell/Zooey Deschanel are the next Fred/Ginger chemistry types...and they should continue making movies with each other. I'm sure I will be mocked for days, but it is a personal belief...and I'm not joking.

I didn't believe it up until two months ago, but swing dancing *can* be sexy. I thought by the very nature of the dance, there was no way...I was wrong.

I've had router issues and framwrk issues on the pc. thinking hard about a mac and looking for recommendations if anyone cares to offer few :)

The newest macs are Intel based, while the older ones are all PPC. If you get an Intel mac, you won't have as much of a choice of native software right away, but it will be better in the long term.

You can probably get a good G4 mac for a reasonable price used, but if you want a new one, I'd suggest the new iMac or the new MacBook Pro. If you need a super industrial strength powerhouse of a computer, then get the quad core G5 tower- but it'll cost you.

For the dirt- cheap option, you can get a legacy G3 blue & white (make sure it's a rev 2) and install Panther. That will probably cost under $80, maybe even less, depending on whether or not Panther is already installed, and how much RAM you want to add, if you want to outfit it with new drives, etc. and how much shipping costs- you can find them on ebay and sometimes on craigslist. The blue & white, or "Yosemite" is a good value for your money.

With a G3 or G4, you should also consider getting a different keyboard- an old ADB keyboard or a third-party USB keyboard is good - and an optical mouse is a good purchase, too. Just beware the puny little keyboard and hockey-puck mouse that comes with these machines.

Hope this helps :)

they were all born on february 23rd 1956 exactly at the moment when elvis released 'heartbreak hotel'. the drummer, mike spiggott, learnt how to ride a bike on the day that the beatles were on the ed sullivan show. eddie flame, the lead guitarist, broke his ankle at the exact moment that dylan plugged in his electric guitar at newport. they met at woodstock and formed the band in 1970 on the day the beatles split. they had a number of minor hits in the early seventies like 'the moon's silver face reflects the wisdom of the sea' and 'my stack heels are killing me'. in 1979 they decided to become punks and released the best selling 'snot my fault' which made them millionaires. they then started wearing a lot of make up for the early part of the eighties, notably on the cover of 'sartre eyeshadow'. in 1990 a paul oakenfold remix of 'smiley flowerchild' gave them a dancefloor hit. they spent the rest of the nineties in a field in shropshire before returning in 2003 with a greatest hits package and world tour.
