![]() I once made this VERY owl for someone. I was twelve, I think, and terribly earnest. :o |
^:D I hope you didn't use leg hair.

an incoming pilot asking about the crowd at 18c runway (overheard on the ATC scramble of schiphol airport)-- and the tower dude explaining that the antonov 378f just landed..
i'll probably hear the damn thing taking off right over my head tomorrow morning-- it's scheduled to leave at 07:00h. it produced 92 decibels on the way here so i guess i don't have to set the alarm clock  yeah i know, i'm a geek :o if you are too, open this in winamp or any other player: http://audio.liveatc.net:8012/eham.m3u |

it's what it said here: http://194.229.29.150/nomos/main.mxml
18c is the rw called "zwanenburgbaan" north to south. this aircraft didn't fly over here, but it will probably leave from 18c again. i now see that they changed the stats to 85 decibel! but yeah, i've learned how loud these things are-- 55-60: able to hear it inside the house with window/balcony door closed 60-70: rumble interfering with regular conversation 70-80: louder than the tv over 80: windows & cups in the cupboard rattle over 85: cat hides under bed |
most people get their forecasts in degrees on the weather channel
Frieda gets her forecasts in dB's on the airport channel :D |
well, sometimes in the weekend where they're doing maintenance on the runways and only one is open and it happens to be the one that has a flight path right over my head, it will not be quiet. 48 hours of constant rumble. those are the days i don't want to be home and i am very happy with that website!
but yeah, the atc scramble is just geekness because of the antonov :D |
holy carp ! i didn't realize the antonov was this one

^Thanks! :)

Frieda, I feel your pain...
This guy: Flies over our house on a regular basis going into Moffett Field. He's only got the 4 engines and we're about 8 miles away from the runway but it's still awfully loud, and it usually comes in at 2:30am. Plus we're at a part of the pattern where they have to rev the engines a little to stay on glide path. |
I used to visit some people who lived in the house at the end of this runway.
http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en...&t=k&z=17&om=1 You could see the tread on the planes' tires as they landed. |
yeah it's the 225-- biggest plane in the world
latest update is that it will indeed take off from 18c-- which means that it has to use the overpass to cross the A4 highway-- imagine being stuck in a traffic jam and having that big mf taxiing in your face! funkytuba-- 2:30 in the morning! i think i'm hearing the last one of the evening right now-- 0:53.. then the airplanes have to use the strict flight paths which are not over my head, thankfully.. |
I've been inside a couple of 225s. Swell titanium deck!!!!!

My 11 year old niece called me today and we watched this video together on YouTube. It make me laugh.
