hey mdk just got stuck on the wrong page somewhere, no need to go ballistic on his arse! ;)

mdk - the word for this round is 'volmer'

Zatoichi 05-31-2006 12:17 PM

volmer -- livid, enraged, out of control.

"Some newbie got confused and Jack went all volmer on his ass."

Coffee 05-31-2006 02:21 PM

Zat...you are supposed to judge this round...no fair submitting an entry!!! You might be accused of bias if you win.:p

daverbee 05-31-2006 02:30 PM

Ichi-san is just helping the newbie learn the right way to play the dictionary game.
Now, we've all waited long enough, time for judging...and Coffee's right, if Ichi-san wins we get a bunch of yakuza to gang up and slice and dice him.

It's really quite a fanciful definition, when all is said and done. My guess is that MDK saw that word on another page of the game and thought it was at the end. This error is of course what's now commonly known as a volmer.
Done it myself - very embarrassing :o
So I propose we submit even more definitions of sphalolaila to pass the time while Zatoichi concocts what must certainly be the most heart-rendingly perfect round of judge's special awards ever in the history of the game...:D

sphalolaila - what happens when you fall down while loudly singing in a drunken stupor, and find yourself splayed out onto the street with a painfully skinned tongue.

Marcus Bales 06-01-2006 09:32 AM

sphalolaila - A sometimes painful condition of repeating a word in the Dictionary Game; from the Greek, sphalo, word game, and lalia, tongue repetition. See, too, phallolalia, but only if you are not easily shocked.

vomer n.

A popular game or pastime that has disintegrated into a pile of arse.

daverbee 06-01-2006 01:39 PM

Sphalolaila Volmer

Little known Roman Emperor from the late 3rd Century. Known mostly for his ability to play a melody using his armpits.
Not much else is known about Sphalolaila Volmer other than the nickname given him by his subjects: Fartus Melodicus Eruptus.

LeahDear 06-01-2006 02:09 PM

^^^ :D He has a wife, you know. Do you know what she's called? She's called... Incontinentia. Incontinentia Buttocks.

Master_Jedi 06-01-2006 03:55 PM

sphalolaila (N)
A serious pre-existing condition monkeys have while waiting for results that normally manifests itself by a severe physical repititous motion, ie toe tapping.. head beating off walls....

While suffering from yet another bout of sphalolaila, it was decided that after 7 days, Marcus Bales gets to step in and objectively judge the entries to the dictionary game...

So... 18 more hours... Tic toc tic toc....

Zatoichi 06-02-2006 01:48 PM

volmer v. to abuse the capricious powers of the wordling game host.

I hate it when Zatoichi wins. He just volmers around for days.
