antitussive -- anything designed to keep a tussi or tussis at bay. The female in a couple may insist on dopey haircuts for her boyfriend, or insist that he wear very prominent keepsakes of the relationship in order to announce to all potential tussis that the boy is taken; the male, if trying to resist temptation, may either adopt a similar antitussive artifact or may engage in antitussive behavior such as exaggerated swearing or drunkenness. Generally, however, resorting to antitussives is a sign of underlying intractable relationship issues. Also, the bitch ought to just lighten up a little.

gadoid - Follower of Gad; from the Farsi ghatt, which the English thought sounded "too black" to say, and so substituted the final "d" for "t" sound. Preserved in English mostly in "Egad!", but "gadoid" is occasionally used metaphorically to describe the sort of person who would say "Egad!"
