Scillian went on to say the Internet has even changed the way people think of news, so covering a baby panda sneezing on YouTube may feel journalistically flimsy, but not covering it runs the risk of being seen as out of touch.

I must confess that I've never trusted the Web. I've always seen it as a coward's tool. Where does it live? How do you hold it personally responsible? Can you put a distributed network of fiber-optic cable "on notice"? And is it male or female? In other words, can I challenge it to a fight?

ROS: I remember when there were no questions.

ROS: Answers, yes. There were answers to everything.

blargh blargh ... technology capable of fulfilling our every need (almost). It's safe to assume that you know a little bit about nanotechnology from picking up this book. However, you may have a few unanswered questions. Maybe you've heard it described as "The Next Industrial Revolution" on the news followed by some business commentary. Maybe you're a Will Smith fan and saw his 2004 movie I, Robot ...

Now of old the isle of Rügen was full of Dwarfs and Trolls,
The brown-faced little Earth-men, the people without souls;

And for every man and woman in Rügen's island found
Walking in air and sunshine, a Troll was underground.
