What's your favorite(s) Monty Python movie?
 

My favorites are (drumroll, please):

1. Life Of Brian
(on a side note, I've got a black & white poster of Graham Chapman from LOB, and it's where he opened up the shutters in the morning after doing the deed with his lady friend; he's holding his hand over his winky when he sees a huge crowd in the square below the window...)

2. Monty Python & The Quest for the Holy Grail
(easily one of the funniest movies of all time, of which many of us can attest to)

Question for the more knowledgeable MP fans: does Time Travelers & The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen (forgive any spelling errors there) officially count as a MP movie? I've never been able to figure that out.

i like the humor of Holy Grail better, but the songs in Life of Brian are great.. can't decide which one's best!

Life of Brian. It's the most completely realised one.

Re: Time Bandits and Munchausen. No, these are Terry Gilliam films. John Cleese makes a brief appearance in the first, Eric Idle in the second. If you liked them, you should see Jabberwocky, which is not really meant as a comedy, more as a fantasy, and stars Palin. It was Gilliam's first effort as solo director.

A feature on the Holy Grail dvd is a version of 'Knights at the round table' remastered with Lego figures... most amusing!

i have a confession to make-- i used to build these things too. i was very, very, VERY disturbed as a child. still am, but i can control it now. unless there's a viking bending over in front of me with everything body painted except for his bum.

i love legos, i have a whole bunch of the castle ones and when i get deeply stressed out i build stuff with them and then smash it all to bits. (when medication is not enough)

Oooo - I was hoping we could post Gilliam flicks too - since the MP movies are really part of his oeuvre (right?)

I do love "Holy Grail" - both the movie & the accompanying record (which I became way too familiar with in my teen years) but Gilliam's "Brazil" and "Time Bandits" are some of my favorite films of all time... I like to be disturbed and overwhelmed. :D

I'm wiping the dust off this old file - I love all their stuff: their movies, Fawlty Towers, Michael Palin's travel series and of course the Flying Circus which I bought, yes, the whole series. My two kids, bless them, also love the boyz. Did anyone get to see the Broadway show?
