^:D Most likely.
Reminds me of the time my husband rented a movie for our daughter and her friend who was keeping her company while she babysat her brothers. She was fourteen at the time. About an hour or so into dinner, my husband checked his watch in a fairly obvious way. I casually asked him what he'd rented for the girls to watch. He smiled a wicked smile and said "I forget. Why don't you give them a call and find out?" So I dial the land line. Imogen answers, petrified out of her mind. He'd rented "The Ring" for them, and the movie had just ended. it took her a long time to forgive me for that. |

^^^Just saw that, Brynn. Actually, that really was an old friend. :) She played me "California Stars" about 2 seconds after I thought of her.
But something actually creepy happened to me a couple of days ago. I am still thinking about it, but haven't settled on what to think. I was driving on a back road at sunset. It was Veteran's Day, but I was still surprised to see an officer in his dress uniform, walking alone in formal step on the side of the road, hat held low over the left side of his chest. His uniform seemed too dark for the army, but it looked like that style. I wondered what he was doing, whether his car had broken down out there in the middle of nowhere, and I looked in my rearview mirror just as I passed. I looked hard, for at least 2 solid seconds, then back again after checking that the road was straight, and I didn't see him anywhere. It was near dusk, but I could see the shoulder and the grass on the roadside, the pastures. I looked up within 50 feet of passing him, and there was no where for him to turn off. I thought immediately of Auntie and her old man on the side of the road. I don't know whether I imagined he was there, or whether I somehow didn't see him after I passed, but I can't see how either could be true. I've had strange things happen, heard strange noises, but I've never seen anything like that. Dunno. But it was creepy. |

Ohhhhh.
Dunno if I would want that. :o I worry enough about the living and can't imagine where I would find time to worry about the dead. I said the appropriate prayers in my tradition, though, and it did me some good, at least. Maybe I will ask my friend's abuela to rub an egg on me. |
^ I have never seen or heard a single one ever...
all my creeps come out in my dreams - I don't think there's any room left for them in waking life |
