Muzak
We need a music thread again, don't we? I'd say anything could go in here...recommendations, what's stuck in your head, what you're listening to, whatever.
I've had Bjork and Antony Hegarty in my head this afternoon..."Dull Flame of Desire." |
On second thought, don't.
|
i'm still caught up in what has become a 2 month unending obsession with the rakes' "capture/release" album.
if this forum had any self respect, some snotty indie kid would come along and tell me "that's soooooo 2005." |
"chainsmoke Kansas Flashdance asspants"
quite possibly the best lyrics ever penned in the English language. |
I followed my own link and figured out I posted the wrong video up there because I am a doof. :o But that's for "Where it's at", which is also good, and I'm going to leave it there.
This is the right one for "Hotwax", with the perfect lyrics. |
Got You said by Chikinki on my mind just now.
Generally like their stuff, mayhap I buy the album (yeah am old-fashioned, when I like something I wanna HAVE the CD... ;)) |
|
^That's brilliant, Stephi, thanks. :)

Bela Fleck & the Flecktones - Live at the Quick
 |
|
It's a bit old (1996) but have hear-look at Ya pridumal tebya by Nautilus Pompilius (titlesong of the film Brat/Brother which I totally dig, that cutie actor Sergey Bodrov unfortunately died in 2002...)

I just discovered "Neutral Milk Hotel" - which is possibly the most indie name I've ever seen -
I now know where The Decemberists, Arcade Fire, and Bright Eyes got their inspiration. :D |
Hey Eugene - Pink Martini
It does sound the teensiest bit like "you won't see me", but that doesn't make it any less great. |
|
Hemoriders - Lower Bavarian Skunk (=skapunk)
edit: the above aren't only the hippest band in L.B. atm, but also the current school band of my former highschool - wow! - oh my, ours was, well, I won't say something bad now... ;) |
|
unified GECKO
:) (not only great music, but it makes me think of a certain Cehangir in sweet melancholic way...) |

The Debutante Hour
-- saw them live last night: wow + so fun + so nice ladies!!! :) My fav songs are the Devil Song and Verkhovnya (their version of an East Ukrainian folk song, they also have brought one of their accordions from that area, they described how hard it was to get it over the Polish border ;)) |
