You might've, but Frieda has a watch that'll make your belt buckle its bitch. :D

I have two undergraduate degrees. One of them in computer science.

I was about to quit my job, until they gave me a new assignment... using Linux.

I have either built, or disassembled and reassembled every computer I have ever owned. Including my Linux box. My text editor of choice, when an X terminal is unavailable, is vi.

I have seen every episode of Star Trek. From all five series. Including the movies. And more than a few fan-films.

I have an extensive, and I mean extensive collection of Star Trek, Star Wars, and Dune novels, and even a few novels from Red Dwarf. I have read the entire Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series.

Back in university, some friends and I had a series of Web pages, the contents of which I hope that the Internet simply forgets about, because frankly, they're so nerdy, they scare even me.

I too own a working Atari 2600 circa 1983, with the wood grain panel on the front (four switch model). I also own every Nintendo console, two GBAs, and a DS Lite. For Christmas one year, my wife gave me a belt buckle in the likeness of a classic Nintendo controller.

I have life-sized cardboard stand-ups of R2-D2 and C3-P0.

The fact that the term "nerdgasm" has been coined gives me one.

are you trying to buy my affection with a lovely hematite?

er-- i mean, hey, how YOU doin'?

brightpearl 11-27-2007 04:42 PM

^oooh, I like hematite too. I carry a teeny hematite rhinoceros in my bag since summer.

You know, because I am a rhinoceros nerd. :o

auntie aubrey 11-27-2007 04:53 PM

that explains your first post in this thread. hematite affects mathematical ability. oh, did i mention that i'm also a new-agey-nerd? i check everything according to resonance with bodily/emotional/mental function and which chakra is affected.

we just bought my mother in law a set of windchimes for christmas and before i wrapped the gift i had to ensure that they were tuned to a chakra that rang true (no pun intended) to her personality. i was absolutely willing to exchange them if the chakra wasn't right. fortunately they're tuned to E, which is the solar plexus. which is an excellent choice for her.

and while we're on the subject, say hello to my tibetan singing bowl:

it resonates a pure, clear B, which corresponds with the crown chakra. it's one of my favorite "save if there's a fire" possessions.

newagegasm.

brightpearl 11-27-2007 04:56 PM

^That's very interesting. I know very little about such things, but I recently became a sound nerd, so I'll have to do some reading. :D

Lookit, it's a bebe.

I will love him and pet him and call him George.

then again, there are few things more NERDY than a contest

T.I.P. 11-27-2007 07:12 PM

ok after some thought i take that back...there are many things more nerdy than contests...

sorry i have impulses to blurt stuff out like that lately. Actually I just had an impulse to cancel my FAWKING bank card because i thought some AHOLE had spent 151 euros on pictures of his vacation using my stolen card (150 euros removed from my account under "FOTOVISTA")

turns out FOTOVISTA is a website where i just bought a hard disk and the AHOLE who spent 151 euros there is me

i called back to "uncancel" my card 2 minutes later and it was already too late

fck fck fkc kf ckk fkck

by the way have i mentioned that i have 5 Tibetan bowls and they are all tuned to play in harmony ? not that it's a contest or anything...:o

Frieda 11-27-2007 07:51 PM
