I was surfing online for a new monitor... and i came across this deal. Its a refurb... and its online only. But all things aside, can someone look at the specs of this computer and tell me if its really good for 399 dollars?
In terms of G's, memory, etc etc.

Seems like an awesome deal but im not big into this stuff.

i was dead sure i was going to get rickrolled when i clicked the link.

Having survived buying a new computer recently, I feel like I know a bit of the jargon, and it looks pretty damn good to me.
However, I shall have to ask my nerdy brother who knows about these things.
All I noticed was that it only has a 90 day warranty.

^ probably because it's refurbished. personally i never buy refurbished computer stuff until i know what has been replaced/repaired-- but that's me of course!

at 1st glance:
video card is not that advanced
no cd-rom drive
windows vista (i keep hearing bad things about it, that's why i don't have it myself)

all parts added up would come to 300 euros here, but that's the price for new stuff!

Ok, I consulted the nerd:

Me: Is there some bad quality thing in it that's gonna break down?
Nerd: nope, intel low end core 2
overclock it by about 300mhz on air and away you go
Me: Uh, if you translate all that to English does it mean 'bad'?
Nerd: No.
Me: Ah, ok...


I bought a laptop which apparently have different pricing to desktops, so if that's the price for new desktops then maybe you shouldn't bother. But the specs are ok.

yeah i bought it and im very happy with it
up here 399 for it was a deal. turns out the refurb was only because a screw was loose in the motor that ejects the cd burner tray.

oh neat, if that's the only thing that was wrong with it, cool! :)

I've just recently been playing Monkey Island with my kiddo, so I'm suspicious that JT's new computer is possessed by a demon monkey pirate ghost.
