Wild Kingdom

I live in the city of Grand Rapids Michigan. Yet, my house is on the out skirts of town, but it is still considered to be the city. We have seen deer around here, and my flower beds are flattened so, I think the deer sleep in my back yard.

A few nights ago, I was sitting outside on my deck, reading a book, and an animal ran past me. I thought to myself "What a strange looking dog" Then I realized it was a fox. The next night, I sat out on the deck again, and saw the fox run by again. It must have a routine.

I just think it is so cool to see this wild life. I grew up on 65 acres, and never saw a fox before. Now, they are running through urban areas.

oh wildlife! that's so awesome, i've never seen a fox outside the zoo! we don't have any wildlife here anymore.. just the occasional hedgehog or kamikaze pheasant :(

Speaking of wild kingdom, the rats in my courtyard are squeaking away to their hearts content tonight. They are fawking LOUD - i can hear them over the din of my A/C unit.

couple of years ago when i lived in amsterdam i woke up from a loud squealing and when i peeked under the bed i could see a plastic bag running around.. apparently a mouse got caught inside it and didn't know how to get out of it again.. and i couldn't reach it either, the double bed being in the corner and all. i ended up sleeping on the couch. i remember it was ridiculously loud.

They are bloody loud. Last week I had one waking me up at 4am in the morning by gnawing its way through a plastic milk bottle that I'd left in the laundry for recycling. It took 3 or 4 nights to figure out what the hell it was doing to make such a noise though. Wee stoopid timorous beastie.

^^ :D that is the WORST video i've ever seen. they even moved that windmill from the first shot to a place where it's more out of the way. i like the dutch version better though.. it's about beer, of course.
