Knuckles
 

Knuckles is my 16 year old baby. He is grey, and a very handsome cat. I had his blood work done, and he has diabetes. His cancer screening will be done tomorrow. If he has cancer, I will just let him die, but, not without making sure he is comfortable. If he does not have cancer, I will treat him for his diabetes. This decison was not on my own. Much consulting with my brother the vet, and Knuck's vet. I have been lucky to have Knucks for so many years. I am taking comfort that he is sleeping right next to me. I love him.

Hope it's just the diabetes.

A friend of mine has a diabetic cat. They can live comfortably for many years, if properly maintained and monitored. They even get used to the needle, if you have to give them insulin.

We lost our first kitten Annika when she wasn't even a year old. She got very sick with FIP. So I know how you feel.

I took Knuckles in for his blood test. I should know by Friday if he has cancer. It has been torture. I decided to be a big girl, and sit with him through the blood draws. They had to poke him three times, and he was very brave. Good kitty.
